Side Turning Lights Empty
PostSubject: Side Turning Lights   Side Turning Lights Icon_minitimeTue Feb 16, 2016 7:55 am

I have a 1996 RMS Limited with the fancy feature that lights up the side of the road when you turn on the turn signal and a 1995 RMS that does not. Is it possible, without to much trouble, to swap parts so the 1995 would have that feature?

Thank you.

GM lists only one turn signal switch for 95 and 96s. The switches have 13 terminals at the plug. The wires for the cornering lamps should already be there . Look at the connector near the bottom of the steering column and see if there are two wires on the column side that have no matching wires on the other side of the connector. Check them with a test light to see if they are "hot" only when the turn signals are on. If the wires are not present you could tap into the wire for the turn signal before it goes thru the flasher so the light would light up but not flash.

You just need the turning light harness to add in to your wagon. It's an easy swap, there are how-tos out there.

It's easy, the LT1 cars are wired up to the headlight connector by the air filter. It's a matter of either getting lenses with holes for the lights and either getting the whole harness for a clean look, or buy just the light sockets and wire them yourself.

The GM part number for the sockets is 12013813. A GM dealer will want $32.14 each for the sockets. The option number for cornering lamps was T87.
