Folk,

I have replace the steering coupling, the steering box (Lares) and banded the somewhat loose optical eye at the top of the steering column then had the front end aligned. Still wanders at 40-50 mph, less at lower sppeds and at highway speeds.

Any Suggestions?

I did a thorough job flushing all of the old steering fluid out.

The idler is notorious for wearing out. It is the first part I would replace.

Replaced idler arm, center link and 1 outer tie rod 2 years ago with MOOG. Front end guy would have found any loose parts as well as safety inspection in April.

Fred have you found any tensioners for clutch fan belts in your junk yard journeys lately?
