| Has anyone used 9C1 springs in a wagon ? I looked on the other forum and all I found was guys using SS springs. I replaced my rear shocks and was about to throw the 9C1 springs in and noticed that they were taller and the coils are thinner. I've got all the springs from the same doner 9C1 and was thinking of cutting 1 - 1.5 coils off the front but would like some input on these springs before doing the swap. Does anyone know the difference in the spring rate between the stock wagon springs and the one's from the 9C1 ? Thanks in advance for any and all advice. Sam | |

| I have put stock springs from a 93 9c1 on a 92 wagon in the past. It was a great improvement. But, the improvement was because the stock 92 springs were cut and rode like a "log" wagon....I dunno, maybe it would be an improvement overall, I had no issues. | |

| I didn't cut any off, and I did do front and rear. I was making a 1A2 clone, that's why I left it stock 9c1 height. The cut springs I was refering to was the stock wagon springs....they were crap. | |

| You answered the first part of my question and really the most important. I really needed to know if it had been done. Thanks again. | |

| I have used (as well as others) front 9C1 springs with one coil cut off the bottom. Lowers it nicely and since they are a progressive spring...gives a nice ride. Also used ZQ8s as well. before.... after.... | |

| Chris, That is NICE bro ! nice rake. That's pretty much what I want the end result to be, did you only run the front ? I have the same wheels on mine, what size tire are you running ? | |

| Yes, just did the front. I wanted a slight rake too My current '96 will get the same treatment as soon as I can locate some 9C1 springs... Those were 17in TT2 wheels. (with 255/50/17 tires) I also used the Monroe Severe Service shocks all around. I hear you can also use the Gabriel Police shocks too (Crovo and WagonCollector recommended them) Both shocks are budget replacements for the Bilstein Shocks. | |

| Another ? why did you not run them in the rear ? are the wagon springs better to run back there due to weight ? I'm running 255/60/17's cause I wanted to keep a smother ride. How does your's ride with the 50's. I ran 50's back in the day on my mini truck and bent more than fare share of wheels. Yeah I run the same shocks. I can't wait to swap the bars from the 9C1 into the wagon. | |

| I want to get Moog springs that will be close to the original 9C1 springs height but be a bit stiffer, in the 550# range. I have a raked look now but don't want it. I have a SS spring with 1 coil cut off. Handles nicely but just too low for my taste. What is the installed height of 9C1 springs? I looked all over online but cannot find it anywhere, even on impalassforum.com I am thinking about Moog 5552. http://www.moog-suspension-parts.com/proddetail.asp?prod=MOOG-5552 |
