Replaced my daily Subaru with a HEMI...

My sister needed a car for her growing family...so I offered up my beloved 01 Outback. I really loved this thing and it sold me on Subaru as a brand.  My wife still has her 06 Outback...so I can still get my Subaru fix for now. Here is my sister and my little Niece.




I had been saving up in hopes of buying a newer H6 Outback in the next year or two....but ended up finding a nice used 2006 Magnum R/T at a local lot.  Good history (local car too) and appears unmolested. And cheeeeap. 157K miles on it.

This is my first Dodge and I know there could be issues (like dropping a valve seat randomly).  Lol   BUT, I have always wanted one of these and felt it was worth the risk!  First mods were new tires, headlight restoration, a refurbished facotry radio with Aux port and a performance tune.  I want to do a cold air intake and exhaust next.  

I do still have the Buick too FYI.  This is just my new daily, gig hauler.

Nice Magnum! I'm really digging it's shade of red, it looks SHARP! It's also almost like a mini-wagon too so that's a plus!

That looks really nice! I didn't know that could be done, do the Magnum and 300 share platforms? Is it the same process as putting the front clip from a Roady sedan onto a wagon as in this pic?

Love these...Im troubled with my thoughts,that I might ignore/give less love to my B-Bodies if I had one. But the want is strong...

Lol! I kinda like the Chargum swaps...but no...this is the daily and I'm not doing anything crazy other than some performance mods...that will likely lead into more mods...and more mods....oh God...what have I done.

The Buick brakes better and takes corners better though. (and has a nicer radio and interior) Just feels alittle slower now. Ugg.

I had a friend in college that had a Magnum with the later nose, got it cheap with hail damage, V6 car, huge backseat though, great for designated driver duty.

That car really cleaned up well! The headlights look great and WOW the seats are clean! Neat ride!!

Pretty happy with it so far! Already had it to 4 gigs and it fits all the stuff just fine even when I have the cello and all the keyboard equipment.

Added a "used" (looked new to me...but it was local and cash talked) Mopar CAI. Sounds great when you give it a little gas now! HA! Also did a 180 thermostat so it runs cooler and hopefully won't drop a valve like Kanye drops a mic.

Well, I can see the pics of it, but I love the Magnum. Didn't care for them when they first came out, but they have really grown on me. Kinda like a mini-wagon. I would love to get my hands on one with the SRT8 package!

I've always liked the R/T version. In Black of course.

Certainly like the look of the car, but when is Chrysler going to make a car that will go around corners ? My first Mopar was a 69 Cuda with the 340. Went like stink as long as the road was straight. Every Mopar since had the same issues. Drove a friends Hemi Magnum when they were first introduced and everything seemed fine until I took an on-ramp to the 401. Handled just like my old Cuda. My 06 Chevy pickup handles better. You would think after almost 50 years that they would at least work on their suspensions.

Really wish I could.  Was a highlight of my summer for a couple of years but having divested myself of all "B" and "D"s and current workload being restrictive, have not attended WF in a number of years.  Should just come down to catch up with you guys but my only GM offering is a "short roof" with a huge trunk (Silverado 1/2 ton).

I still keep in touch with Fred and Kelly when we go south.  Last couple of years we vacationed in South Carolina and enjoyed dinner with them both times (he still has a wagon but drives a diesel   VW as his daily).  Maybe next year??? likely without a Long Roof offering.

Lol...I've already upgraded a few things to help that. Petty's Garage Sways (new endlinks) and Frame Brace.  Also changed the wheels to the newer Model Scat Pack.  Bilsteins are next on the list when these struts/shocks start to go.  

All that money and you're still driving a Dodge...
