| Ok, venting....and still shaking a little bit from anger...
It happened about 15 mins ago and I just got in to work. Still mad as hell. Some @ss in a mid 90's Escort decided to hit me in the rear at a light on US29. I wave and pull into a parking lot right next to the road, he waves back and acts like he will do the same....then I hear this screeching and the dude CUTS INTO TRAFFIC the WRONG way on the road and flys off into the sunrise. REALLY? C'mon?!?! Could not read the plate, but I could tell it was not a SC one. Just some busted up dark red 90's Escort with a bunch of stickers on the back glass. Oh, I think he has a mullet too. lol
Good news is the OCC is fine. I was not really worried about it, but I at least wanted an apology from the Escort guy. I was about 99% the car was fine and was gonna tell him that too when he got out.

| Very sorry to hear that, but glad the OCC is going to be fine. What's wrong with people? No one ever wants to be accountable for their actions. | |

| @#%@%^ !$ @#%@#$^ @!$ #$!@# hunt that busted up red escort down and give that m#$@% f@#%3r a piece of your mind. A piece of a bat would be better although it would land you in more trouble than it's worth. He'll run off on ruining someone else's day and property, but watch how quickly he runs to the cops and ambulance chasers if someone messes with him. the cr@pscort was probably stolen too. mullet huh? he's probably that guy on "1800 Ask Gary" how old was this idi0t?

| I hate to hear that. Glad you and the car are ok. Even more glad it didn't happen to your 96 rmw! Things like that tend to mess up a whole day though.

| Glad to hear you and the car fared well. People are such a-holes sometimes.... I had a Ford Conversion van with the spare on the rear door. I'm in a parking spot with the key out of the ignition and I feel someone hit the back of my van. I jump out and this older NY type tells me to be more careful and starts to drive away. There is a crease in the metal tire cover and my paint is on his spoiler!!! I chase the a-hole down on foot (30 ft to the stop sign in the lot) and He gives me more BS. He's in a brand-new mustang convertible with paper tags. I get so #$#^&*^ angry at him yelling at me for something HE did, I react and kick the side of his quarter panel in behind the door. Huge f'ing dent too. He flees as I'm a crazy MF. I quickly realize that I NEED to go before he sees what I did to his BRAND NEW car. I jump in my van and haul out of there back to work. Stop to smoke a cigarette to calm down with the secretary and tell her what happened (I don't smoke). We laugh about it afterward and I hope it brightens your day too What I did, could have cost me hundreds of bucks if he got out and called the cops. I got lucky and got away with it, so there is some justice in the world. | |

Thanks guys! You are a wild man Sproket!!! LOL! I actually just finished up a 2 1/2 test for a new posistion here at work. It was hard to focus because of that fool....I can still see the black smoke puffing fron behind that Escort as he drove off. Makes me think about the rollpan I have for the '96. It would have gotten cracked had he hit it. But to be fair, if it was any other car...it would have hit the tailgate anyhow. I love that 'ol OCC. BabyBlue is something else. Gotta thank Mike again for passing it on.

| and that's one big reason I'm probably not going to put a rollpan on when I paint the 95. There are too many idi0ts on the road these days. With all the distractions, they're doing everything *but* driving. | |

| Sucks man, good thing nothing worse happened. As for Rollpans, I feel they are for people that want their cars to be pretty and take to shows. Anything I drive is gonna have bumpers on it | |

| I just had a bozo scrape the back of my 91, and left the scene. did not break or bend anyting, but scuffed the paint on my roll pan and gate (right down to the metal). It is going into the shop soon for some other fixes, but it still irritates me. It will probably cost me $50-100 extra. | |

| carry a pistol in the car for times like this,. put a round into the guys ass,. he won't drive away as fast, giving you time to record the plate #. Nick seriously tho, ANYTIME there's a problem involving you and another motorist, GET THE PLATE NUMBER FIRST!! before you even look at the driver,.your primary focus in any altercation is identifying the vehicles plate number. (you get the point yet?) | |

Both are very good points.....my problem was I did the "right" thing and pulled off the road after the accident. This allowed him to get away (and I honestly could not have read his plate from that distance) IF I would have just stayed where I was, he could not have moved and I could have gotten out and got his info ASAP. BUT, if I go this route next time, I should be prepared for a nut like that. He could do anything!

| Glad that you are OK and the car survived. I don't know about carrying a gun, but maybe mount twin 50's on the roof of the Custom Cruiser to take care of idiot Kamakazies. | |

| Hook up a rear view camera and have it record the view behind you on a hard drive. You would get a picture of the driver's face. You could mount one in the front too.
Another way to try getting a lead on the jerk, is to check body shops for descriptions of cars matching the perp.

| So far both if my wagons have been safe from a-holes, but a week after I got my 97 Riv on the road, I had some guy turn into a driveway that was right behind where I was sitting at a stop sign and he drug the side of his Yukon along my rear bumper! I followed him in and he says "oh, did something happen back there?" Yeah, the big green stripe on the side of you yukon is from my bumper! But he was cool about it, offered to pay for the damage and what not. | |
