| Good catch Tim: Around here, for the first time in years, my hunter friends totally struck out. As I'm not a hunter, this represents a problem. Carol makes a version of "Acadian" meat pie that we serve for some of these hunter friends on Christmas Eve every year and it requires a variety of game meat. They produce Bullwinkle and Bambi and Carol produces dinner. I refer to it as "roadkill pie" but it is one of my favourites. Look forward to it every year, as do my friends. Guess we are just going to have to buy some domestically raised game meat this year. The coyotees have really invaded this area and have seriously depleted the deer and moose populations. Anyways, enjoy your buck. It is a fine example. The antlers will look good mounted on the wall. Bill | |

| Nice! My wife, the deer hunter in the family, is jealous! She's yet to bag one this season, all they're seeing is little does, although a family friend bagged a 150lb 10-point two weekends back.
It does look tasty. Grind it up with some Jimmy Dean spicy sausage. Mmmmm
Deer tacos are hard to beat and easy to make too.

This deer probably weights in at 225lbs. on the hoof. Just guess, but he is huge.

Knife in the teeth, jumped out of a tree and slit his....... Just kidding. I use a climber stand and was about 20' up. Had two doe and a small 6 pt on me right. This buck came in from behind my left side following another big doe. He turned toward me and had his head behind a tree. This allowed me to stand and turn hoping the others did not see me. He then gave me a full broad side shot through a little brush. I use a shotgun with sabot slugs. If you get a good hit they do not go far. He fell in his tracks!!! a short 40 yard shot. Thanks for asking........... Tim

| That's a nice one Tim, I counted 8 points, and a big 8 points at that, is that right? Do you know how it scored on the Boone & Crockett score chart? 120's maybe? | |
