| Since our event doesn't match up with the car show in downtown Geneva. I don't see a need to drive up the west side of the lake on Rt 14 as is our typical route. Instead we could take "the scenic route" on the east side of the lake on 414, to 96A to 96. which would bring us out nearer to the motel where many of you are staying.
there are several wineries and craft breweries along the way. I googled "wineries and breweries near Geneva N"Y and got about 10 locations that would be either on, or slightly off the track going back up to Waterloo from Watkins Glen. | |

| Over the years we have eaten in various restaurants,. I personally always liked Abigails, We ( my wife n i) also liked the place right downtown waterloo
We won't be going to b+r's again.
A cruise is fun,.IF people can keep up and together, and a different route is always more intetesting.

| While on the subject of restaurants, in the first few years of WF, Friday nights we went to the buffet at the truck stop and then had a BS session outside. Everyone liked that. For Saturday night, I liked the Italian restaurant downtown Waterloo. I also didn't mind Abigail's, maybe swap it off every year or so. I mean this in a good way, as I know Dave put a lot of effort into it, but not sure if it was a good idea to put the cruise and the restaurant together. Everyone was hungry, and I think the cruise was way to long. It took forever to get there. The food and service left a lot to be desired. I'm still on the fence, if I will attend or not, but if I do, I won't be going to Bob & Ruth's. Last year the Ferry Bros, myself and Diane did the brewery thing on Friday night. We had a great time. I don't go to the car show every year, but I know there are guys who did go every year and will miss it. Anyways my 2 cents, whatever it's worth. Tom

| The Glen is always fun, but the more the merrier. My pick.
The Iron Skillet, at the Waterloo Petro was fun Friday nights.
Wagon cruise + wineries + breweries. Fun for some/most, could be troublesome? I'd be game for that if the foods good/fair, I don't drink anything stronger than Mt Dew.
The Glenn Curtiss Museum is kinda cool, but it's a drive.
Bob & Ruth's was fair to midland. Food was pretty good, service was so-so, but not worth the drive imo.
Abigail's was also so-so imo, but it's much closer to the hotel.
I'll be there Friday & Saturday for what ever though.

| How about the Glen on Friday afternoon, and for those not making the Glen or arriving later in the day, we meet up somewhere on the East side of the lake for a few samples and/or dinner. Afterward we head back to the Motel in Waterloo? | |

| There are a few places on the path to/from The Glen that we could eat/drink at, and serve as a good backdrop for group photos. | |

| That would be great. I know little of that side of the lake so I'm at a loss for suggestions as to where.Feel free top pick a spot and/or coordinate with DMG4 (Dave G) Maybe we could warn them we have large group coming that night.
My point of the EAST side tour is simply to make the trip intentionally different than the same WEST side route that has been used year after year. Once again, there is no car show in Geneva that Friday night. Most people stay in the Waterloo area.. Therefore an EAST side return gives us both a different scenic route that no one has been on, and puts most people closer to the Motel that they are staying at.
Please strongly consider an East side return, and subsequent stop(s) along the way.
Thanks, Dave

| Let's do this:
As last year: assemble FRIDAY AFTERNOON at the Wegman's parking lot on 5&20 in Geneva at 2:00-ish PM, to depart for Watkins Glen at 3:00 PM sharp. Pick up tickets ($25 per car) in village of Watkins around 3:50, and be at the track by 4:15 for staging for the 5:00 PM run on the track.
From the Raceway Website: Purchase your Drive The Glen pass for $25 per vehicle at The Shop [2 North Franklin Street, Watkins Glen, NY] or at Gate 2 [Main Track Entrance]. For more information, please call 607.535.2338.
Sound off to me via PM now. Who is in for this event? We can make this a simple evening. I'll work on a place for a picnic stop and group photo, maybe a winery and/or brewery on the way back to Geneva. No fussing with restaurant preferences or prices. Bring a sub (Wegman's subs are very good) or something and drinks. I'll find views, wine/beer, and a place to sit. We will return from Watkins Glen via the east side of the lake.

| I'm not sure if I missed this somewhere, but what is the itinerary for Saturday? I've never been to WF so not sure what time the festivities begin at Seneca Lake State Park. | |

| Probably my 2nd favorite movie, of all time is "It's a Wonderful Life" with Jimmy Stewart (The Godfather is 1st). When we've traveled through Seneca Falls, I've thought this place looks like the setting from the movie. Well low and behold, there is a museum in Seneca Falls for "It's a Wonderful Life" started by Zuzu in the movie. One year I'll go there. Anyways if anyone is interested, here's the link: https://www.wonderfullifemuseum.com/ | |
