Watkins Glen and Friday Buffet sign up list

PLEASE post up immediately. If you are intending to Drive down to the Watkins Glen International track for some laps and pictures on Friday afternoon July 21, 2017. Note that there is a separate signup list for Saturday Night in the Wagonfest 2017 section

As in the past, we will be leaving the Wegmans parking lot  that is located just west of Rt 14 , on Rt 5.  We will be meeting at 2:30pm and leaving at 3:00pm sharp.  We will drive down the WEST side of Seneca Lake down Rt 14 to Watkins Glen. A quick stop at the first building in town (big brick building on the left at the bottom of the hill) to purchase tickets , and up to the track.

If you are coming up from the south, you can simply meet at at the track after purchasing your ticket.

I've gotten plenty of feedback about the drive back home nad a possible meal afterward to announce the following course of events.

After we leave the track (about 5:45 pm) we will be traveling up the EAST side of the lake, straight up north  RT 414 to  North Rt96 to East Rtrt5 to the motel on Rt 5and 414 and meet up with people at the motel at 7:15

From there we, will motorcade up Rt414 to the PETRO service center  at I-90 for a Friday night buffet dinner. There is plenty of parking for us as a group. By the way Del Lago Casino is a half mile away, on the other side of the Thruway.

Petro is the truck stop on Rt 414 at EXIT 41 of the New York State Thruway.
 and the motel should be there about 7:30pm

The reasoning has several points. Many of you won't be arriving in time to get to the Glen, but are more likely to be in the Waterloo area in the evening and be hungry. Some have wondered about kids at wineries and Breweries. Others have mentioned limitations of menus. So this solves all the issues .

I'm in for Watkins Glen and dinner. I will have an accompanying person for both.

I'm in for Watkins Glen, not dinner. I'll have 4 people in the car if that matters.

We will be there at the Petrol, can't make Watkins Glen as we will be driving.

Matt and I are both in for the Glenn and possibly dinner.  Dave, we can drive together from Rochester if you want. I may do the Glenn w my 1995 Impala (if that is allowed).
