Good morning everyone, just joined from Ohio. Have been casually looking for an LT1 longroof, and starting to get serious. One question I have is about the woodgrain - most examples I find need some of the trim redone or entire panels due to sun fade. I've read a lot of threads about this, but most are kinda old.

Can someone let me know where the best place to source the replacement vinyl is these days? My understanding is that there is no perfect match, but there is material available.

Thanks,

Andrew

Welcome from Indiana. JC Whitney,I believe carries a darker, more affordable option. EBay has options on the 3M goodies. Happy hunting for your first ride.

Welcome aboard. I never looked into it, but I know there is one out there that is very close to the original. Texas Mike (81X11), and Brokecello would be good resources for info on this...

There are still a number of the wood-delete cars available if you don't want to mess with replacing vinyl. You can run a nationwide check of Craigslist using a service like Searchtempest. Check the For Sale section of this forum too. There are some nice ones available, and more pop up periodically.

Check out,

metrorestyling.com

They have quite a few woodgrain options.

Oh, Welcome to the forum!

I ordered two rolls of this to go on the 78 Electra Wagon project my son and I are doing. Have not installed it yet, but it looks and feels like a good quality item. It is darker than what Roadmasters got, but hard to beat the pricing!

This is the same stuff!

Things to consider too...will your wagon be garaged most of the time? Or sit outside?  If outside...you need to seriously think about the product you buy.  I went for a non woodgrain pattern to get a 7year outdoor protection while not paying $600+ for a similar wood grain pattern. Vvivid is the brand I used and it has held up very well.  My first round, I went with a wood grain pattern from an off brand and it didn't even last 2 years in the elements.

Now that I have a garage though, I am exploring a woodgrain option again, but it would be printed locally.

Welcome to the group!!!
