On the LT1 cars, at the sending unit they have the connectors you need the quick disconnect tools for. On the TBI cars is it the same or do they have the style like at the fuel filter where you can pinch them in with pliers?

I don't recall having to use the quick disconnect tool on my TBI cars, but don't have one to check. Asking for my boy as I"m mailing him a fuel pump I have sitting around NIB, and it sounds like his is getting flaky.

They may have come both ways depending on the year. I have one from a 91-92 that has the pinch type. You can use your fingers to pinch them, they are just a PITA to get off. The ones in the front need the tool.

I think the 93s have the pinch type as well. They used them on the heater core because of the formed aluminum tubes. They are also a PITA to get off.

The 91 Olds that I just got rid of has the pinch type connectors on it. Most all of them should be since the TBI uses lower fuel pressure.

Thanks. That's what I recalled. The fuel pressure makes sense I guess, although they are still used at the fuel filter on the LT1.
