How hard would it be to pull a factory remote keyless entry system from a car (provided we can find one) and install it into our wagon? Is the wiring harness for it separate from the rest of the vehicle or all intertwined? Maybe it's easier to install and aftermarket system?

Should be a major PITA. It is all wired together. Just buy an aftermarket one. I used one from Autozone years ago. Only took a few minutes to install.

It is a lot easier to install an aftermarket system. There is a lot to the wiring harness. You need the cross car harness, and the left side harness all the way to the tailgate. The wiring from the fuse block must be added as well. You will be removing the complete dash, and all trim on the inside left of the car. You will have to do it twice, once to get the harnesses, and once to install them in your car.

Thanks for the insight guys. Smile

I'll look into an aftermarket system possibly with remote start too...
