| So on my 91 Roady I had an issue where my horn just started to go off all by itself. I finally narrowed it down to a bad connection on the column. With the car off and the ignition off when I turn the wheel left while it’s locked the horn goes off. When I was playing around trying to fix this (still ongoing) I noticed a couple of bad fuses. The one that I cannot understand is the fuse for the injectors. It is blown but the car still runs and won’t start if I change the fuse to a new one????? | |

| The fuse block is sometimes melted, and the contacts can touch. The fuses get hot enough to melt plastic. It is probably poor contact between the fuse and the socket. My blower fuse got hot enough that I had to replace the plastic housing. | |

| Hey, thanks for the reply Fred. I’m more confused by the fact that when I replaced the fuse that controls the jests the car would not start. When I put the blown fuse back in, started right away. Also I must have a short in the steering column, depending on how the tilt is set on the wheel the horn goes off. | |

| Are you sure the horn switch isn't to blame? I've found that to be the case in two instances of random/sticky horn action. The plastic of the airbag/horn module shrinks over time and can cause the horn to blow when not expected or stay on when you push it. | |

| Horn issue is the spring loaded connection failed, the car came with an aftermarket wooden steering wheel. I have to either fix the connector or relocate the horn button | |

| my 94 rmw had the horn stuck on, previous owner had just pulled the horn circuit fuse, I clipped one wire for the horn contact and spliced in a new button that I mounted to the side of the steering wheel so as I'm driving the new button is right next to where my hand is, though my Stevens point mechanic doesn't like it there as he accidently hits it when he's taken the car for test drives.
But that might be the best bet, thee are several types of horn buttons on the market that are designed to mount on the outer ring of the steering wheel. | |

| I have wooden steering wheels on both of my cars, and I had to fiddle around with both horn buttons to get them to work properly. It took a little bit of work, but both work properly now. | |
