Make sure all the screws are out, and use a trim tool to pop the tabs so you don't break the panel mounts by pulling. Have the window down (if you can) to make it easier to pull the panel up once the tabs around the perimeter have been popped from the door.

Are you talking about the window up and down switch that is in the armrest on our 96 RMW? If so, that panel just pops out of the armrest.

If the panel does have to come off, lift the ends of the pull strip to get to two big screws, then one small screw in the bucket for door pull, on buried screw in the carpet near the rear off the door bottom. IIRC the rest should be pop out with a fork tool. Could be very hard to lift off the window bottom, ours sure are.

what booster said about the door switch. just pry it up on the front and it should pop right out. If you do have to pull the panel, once the screws are out (3 - 2 big ones holding the door strap and 1 in the lower left corner on the bottom) and you have popped the christmas tree fasteners loose it will still be caught at the window on the top. push it down and toward the glass to release. it's easier with the window glass down, but you can do it with it up too.

I usually pull the door panel out at about 30 deg. and slap the top rear corner to get the panel to release from the door. The top is ABS, and is strong enough to be stable. With that said, you do not have to remove the card to remove the switch panel. There is a "hook" on front, and two pins on the back. If you can put pressure on the front the hook will clear the panel, and it will come out.
