Doing my rear brakes this weekend, and I have some questions.

I'm on the Advance Auto Parts website and they list a few different things...

First, what is the drum height for our wagons? If it makes a difference, mine is a '92 with the tow package.
Second, what size are the wheel cylinders? Again, they list some different ones...

From what I gathered, the brake shoes I need are the 11x2 ones, and I'm getting a hardware kit. The other things are the variables, as there are HD and non-HD, some that say wagon specific, some don't mention it... etc.

So I ask you guys, am I anywhere near the ballpark? My rear brakes are BAAAAAD, so this is a this-weekend project.

all wagon rear ends use the same drums so all year parts are the same.
yes they list various sizes for wheel cylinders etc.
I got screwed by auto zone a few months back (July) in that they gave me the right box, but the wrong shoes

what I would do is pick one side and take it apart, then take those parts over to the store and compare them to the ones you are buying to make sure.

you then still have the other side to see what it should look like when it goes back together Smile

hopefully you have a ride to the parts store....

I do... sort of.

But the Advance website just lets me select my car as a "1992 Caprice" and doesn't let me specify wagon or not, so I get what I assume are both sedan AND wagon parts (I know that's the case for shoes at least).

And LOL Sorry. I'm a professional forum lurker. I'm on Christmas break with nothing to do. bounce

Got the brakes done. Glad I can stop now.

No, I haven't checked the heat because I haven't been driving the car. I'll check it tonight or tomorrow, I promise. lol
