LEND ME YOUR EARS (Actually... your eyes)

I have found the SEM code for TBI Dark Maple Red!

According to the rep from SEM I just got off the phone for. Dark Maple Red is #4565

Feel free to merge this somewhere or whatever. I just felt like using my terrible joke for a thread title. Very Happy I'm excited. Console install coming soooooooon.

I agree. Would be a cool resource. VinylPro can make aerosol cans of it for $14 a piece (A bit pricey, I'm going to shop around a little and see if I can find them any cheaper. I figure two cans should be enough to do the center console I have laying around and a few air vents that I can snag. Might get some extras if it's cheap enough though. Never can have enough. Smile Maybe I can find a crack-free dash pad somewhere and get rid of my carpet cover... Very Happy

That's another topic for another day :p

Really? $14 is decent? I plan on getting 3 or 4 of them. I have my entire center console to do, and - god and weather permitting, maybe a dash pad soon. Smile

Lots of wagon plans for 2011. 2011 is going to be the year 2010 was supposed to be. Only with a job and money. Very Happy

Yeah, I found $14 to be pretty reasonable since he custom mixes each can. Mike at Vinyl Pro was super helpful. Good service there.

Hey Stingroo go to this site www.TCPGlobal.com and look at their prices at 11.26 a can for SEM interior paint is pretty
reasonable and they have the color chart to compare shades.I have used them in the past and they were great.

Hey, $3 saved per can adds up - I want to get like 4 or 5 cans. My hope is that I find a clean dash pad in a junkyard car some day... Very Happy

Hey Ray do you mean the protective carpet pads for our dashboards or the actual top part of the dash?Check out
the dashpads at Rockauto Parts for our cars as their prices are the cheapest by a long shot.Let me know if thats
what you are looking for?

The actual part. I have a carpet dash mat, but really it just looks weird. I don't like them lol

Okay so bump, and an update:

4565 is NOT the right color... at least, I don't think so.

I called SEM again, because I didn't think to check this thread (I planned to order my paint this weekend and get ready to do the console). The guy I spoke to on the phone says that 4565 is "Dark Maple Red" but out of the 1990 color chart.

When I asked him about the 1992 color chart, he said the only interior color that was red that they had was "Dark Maple Metallic" 4636.

Hmmmmmm..... Don't know if I should risk it and worry about having the wrong color, or do a two-tone black/red interior to match the chalkboard paint on the outside.

What say you, gentlemen?

Does one shade off on some interior parts really matter on a car with a chalkboard hood?

It would irritate the crap out of me, in all honesty. I sit in the inside every day. Very rarely do I look out at my roof/tailgate/other areas.

I'm thinking the black two-tone. Like black floor mats, steering wheel, center console, and call it a day. Black SEM is also surely to be considerably cheaper than the custom-mixed red.

Well Ray you answered your own question!Guys our little wagon nut is growing up FINALLY!
Think the 2tone interior would look awesome as long as you use a shiny black and not a real
flat black. On the interior a flat black too me,is just sun faded and not cool.
IMHO

The SPID code for Dark Maple Red interior color is 70I. If the SPID codes are the same the colors are the same. BTW, there is no interior color "Dark Maple Metallic" in the FSMs for 91 and 92. The Dark Maple Metallic is an exterior color. Go with the 4565 and you will be safe.
