I think those look awesome, and that you're missing two lugnutzes.

Not to mention proper torque specs, a grease cap for the castle nut, a cotter pin and the important brake lines to be hooked up.

Did you get the matching cross drilled brake lines for those rotors?

As far as heat loss:
I will find out when I road race at Waterford Hills this summer at the SS Nats.

rh96ss:
Your setup is very nice, and you won't have second thoughts after reading the article. I targeted a different price point / performance level with the brake setup I worked out.

Not trying to be a jerk, but a LOT of effort was put into figuring all of it out, ordering parts, machining, piecing it together, and trial and error, and I decided early on that a worthy venue to publish the information would be the ISSCA SScene magazine. Not trying to be sneaky, just wanted to make sure it got properly documented. And, by posting it, I AM sharing!

The latest issue was delayed due to some last-minute details for the Nationals that needed to get hammered out. I was told by Ken (the editor) that he should have it up by April 10th or so.

Are your rotors coated with something? I've noticed there is at least one relatively new anti-corrosion coating that looks very promising... except that they don't apply it to most GM rotors except for Corvette parts.

Is the break-in/pad seating procedures the same with this set-up as with a standard set if
brakes?Just curious about the heat cycles and if that coating requires different care when
new. They sure are wicked looking set of brakes and I would love to see peoples reactions
when they see them on a wagon.

Thanks for the compliment. It still needs a few things...like a steering shaft and steering box.

BTW - Joel's brake article is now available over at http://issca.org/newsletter/

In hindsight, although the intent was to get it properly documented, almost nobody is able to see it.

Perhaps after sufficient time has passed it can be posted elsewhere online to enable some additional exposure.
