I was pretty tired after salvage yarding all over south-central Texas yesterday, but when I got home Misty and the kids wanted to go out, and the weather was so nice we decided to pop the t-tops off the Cutlass and head out to Cedar Park for the cruise-in, and then go get some dinner.
There was a BIG show at a Wendy's in Pflugerville last night, and a lot of the folks went there, but we still had a good showing in Cedar Park. We didn't stay a really long time, but got some good pics. Fun evening.
Here ya go:
Original 69 Firebird
Really sharp Ford Pickup hot-rod
Gorgeous T-Bird
Very clean low-mile 91 Caddy Brougham. He had the factory window sticker still on the back door glass
Green Mustang Ragtop
Classic Ford Convertible
68 Camaro
T-Bucket Rod
Ferrari Mondial
Classic Mustang
My Cutlass and a Fiat Spider 1600
GORGEOUS big-block Camaro
Clean 3rd Gen Camaro
2006 GTO
71 Chevelle
Hot Rod 4th Gen Bird
The 56 Nomad showed up.
Wow a 68 Mustang GT California Special! Very Cool!

Yellow Split-Bumper Camaro
Fun Night!

And all these years I though CS mean Carrol Shelby.......
I saw a California Special GM car a year ago, think it was a Skylark, GS or a GTO.....can't recall exactly.

It was a GS. Buick made a special edition Skylark Californa in the late 60's. I had a 68 Skylark in high school and read about the California model when researching 68 Skylarks.
As for the Ford, the 68 California Special Mustang is one of my favorites, so I was excited to see it at the meet. It's basically a dress-up package on a GT Mustang. They used Shelby items, but on a coupe instead of a fastback. The package included the side scoups, striping and badging, Shelby spoiler and rear panel (which included T-Bird tail lights).
Really makes a sharp Mustang.
For brought it back just a few years ago. There was a new 2011 GT 5.0 California Special at the last cruise-in.
Such fun!

There's a 68 california special around here too, I was told that they were done by a group of Californian dealers to have something different to sell
there were also californian special skylarks and some colorado special skylarks
not any different than the 1980 M80 malibu coupes from NC
dealers have powers when they merge and ask for things it happens
