Awesome buy Tim and make sure the sun is not shining on the tires during storage.

Awesome deal. I need to find an extra set of tires for my factory wheels on my 94 Caprice. I intend to run the factories in the winter as I am running my 20" chromes right now. You said you got them from a "dismantle". Where did you find the deal?

A fancy name for a junk yard. These guys fully dismantle cars and sell them off. They advertised on Criagslist...............

well I just went and got the 9/32 235 55 17s Goodyear RSAs I scored onto the Impala rims today and found out that two of them had a split on the sidewall and the third I had to plug Sad
Also paid 200 and feel violated. Been in my garage for about 2 months so doubt the seller will do much but WILL be calling him.

That sucks. That said, the RSA is a good tire. I have them on my VW, great in the snow and rain traction is good too. Shame yours are crap it sounds.

I learned a long time ago that if the tire wasnt mounted when I went to pick them up,a very
thorough inspection followed.Even that doesnt always work as I have bought tires with huge
bubbles that only appeared when inflated to 30 PSI.I guess the old saying "Buyer Beware"
holds true just as much today as it did 100 years ago.

I just mounted up a set of RSAs in 235 55 17 to replace worn out Michelin Pilots. The best news? I paid 40 bucks for the set Wink

I hate you!!! alien alien alien <- envy

The dude has an ad up for another set of 4 so I emailed him as an interested party to get his phone number again....we shall see if he is a man of his word. (he did say he'd do right by me if there was a problem)

Here are some pics of them mounted on the 235 55 17s are on back on the pair of rims I just paid $50 for at lunch today (no caps came with them though). Up front are some skinnies......245 55 17s I think. they are like new tires directional tread. Got the pair of those for $125 with rims and center caps.

So I'm in for 125+200+50 for mount/balance......375 not bad for a set I guess.

Rims look to be in pretty good shape but the tires look like they belong on a go-cart.

I also bought a set of impy rims with some 255-50-17 kumho's on them,($400). Car sat fine on them all winter,. after 1 day of driving i nearly screwed the pass rear it was so soft,. i put 50psi in it,. and it was down to 30 in 600miles,.kept adding air till i got to a nice little tire shop in the middle of nowhere,. young lad pulled the tire off,. some one had tried to jam 2 plugs into two small holes,. but with no vulcanising compound,. so every time the tire squirmed around a corner the plugs leaked,. leaked very little if the pressure was high,.and i was running straight road,. but leaked way fast when the pressure dropped to below 25,.especially on winding hilly driving,.
so he reamed out the holes and added a pretty cool pull thru plug with a patch on the end,. ground every thing nice, and with a nice coat of vulvanising compound the tire is just fine again,.but they looked fine and held air, but you never know,.
