New girl from Texas

I am a new wagon owner. I already had a 1996 Impala SS, and a 1996 Roadmaster. A fellow enthusiast purchased a wagon, and I was hooked. Purchased my first wagon in March, and my second one a week ago. I maybe should have joined a 12 step program in lieu of a forum.

RMW in south jersey bad.You are definitely in the right place but if you only have 2 you
have nothing to worry about.How are sitting for parking space because that usually becomes

I'm with Nick on the need for a pic.

I am lucky to have plenty of parking. I am also lucky to have a husband who has been supportive of my collecting. I may have just maxed out his generosity with my last purchase. I am extremely fortunate to have gotten one of each of the cars I desired before that happened. My first wagon is a 1994 roadmaster, pretty much stock, and badly sunburned, Burgundy with woodgrain. No rust, with tow package, and airbags. My second is a 1995 roadmaster custom. Impala SS front clip, custom paint, rear roll pan bumper. As I pointed out to my husband, two entirely different cars. Pics, and more tomorrow. I'm at work tonight.

Greg, I have been trying to squeeze a 1987 Grand National out of my husband lately! I've reached the coyly forwarding him links stage. No discussions yet.

Every good collection needs a GN.

Keep working on that.

Greg did you pull the engine for the paint work or just tape everything up?Either way it sure
looks good.One of the guys here has a GN Turbo in his white Olds,just cant remember who
he is right now.

I just did that Saturday. I stripped the top of the engine of all the wires, TBI, hoses, etc., cleaned it up, masked everything else and painted it. Topped it with a Jeg's air cleaner and a repro Olds decal. It's my rendition of what GM would have done if they hadn't stopped having some fun under the hood. Glad you like it!

Oh, and it's Grumpy with the Turbo Buick CC.

Welcome! The burgundy wagon (or DCM for the paint code) is my favorite color on these cars. Looking forward to some pics.

Hello! Its my favorite too. The Burgundy one needs a paint job. I intend to do quite a bit of cosmetic work to it. Ill post pics all along the way. The sun has gotten the better of everything on her.

My new mantra... can't save every wagon, can't save every wagon... Glad you guys are around to lift a bit of the burden. I'm exceptionally thankful for the "near miss on number nine" thread. It makes me look completely rational.

I called a fellow forum member for an intervention the other day (95 Gold woody Roadie for 1300) he refused to intervene as it was such a good deal. Lucky for me, the car was sold an hour before I got back to it (had seen earlier in the day when I couldn't stop).

No we don't have a problem

My first one is my favorite. I bought it from a man in San Antonio who had owned it since it was new. He was sad to see it go, but said he was happy to know I would love it, and "finish what he started". I was a little flustered at this point because the car wasn't what I had been expecting, so I didn't ask for more explanation as to what he meant. I had a 7 hour drive home to ponder. Maybe he meant finish destroying the car. Maybe (since he said it with a straight face) he meant he tried modifying the car. Hmmm... I did find this




Which came in handy on the hilly winding roads at night with poor headlights that were not aimed right, and shocks that were completely useless. I was praying I didn't run into rain, because there is NO, and I mean NO rubber on the wipers. My husband put shocks on it last night, and other than that, it is mechanically sound. In fact, I am taking it on a 17 hour trip to Tennessee for Bonnaroo next week.

Stop drooling over the real estate. Yes, that is acreage in the background. I have unlimited parking, and have no neighbors. I live 20 miles in the country. You can see my daily driver, my Roadmaster, just to the left. My impala is in a barn, and these two guys will be soon as well. Sorry about the poor quality pics, I just don't have time today to rearrange all of the cars for better shots.

a bunch too.You bought the 96 that way as I remember seeing it for sale in "Racing Junk"
if I remember correctly.Well with 4 B bodys in your collection its a good thing you live in

Hey Jim! You're correct about the racing junk, but this is a 1995. My Impala is down the road in my father in law's barn. I'll have to take those another day. I need to wash all of them, and line them up. I've never done that before.

I've never heard of Bonnaroo, so I looked it up.

Its my first Bonnaroo. I've been to Coachella, and ACL, but they seem pretty tame in comparison. Every good wagon deserves a music festival.

Hi Robyn, and welcome! I was born in Plainview back in 1974. Neat to see someone from my "hometown". My Dad ran the switching office there for Southwestern Bell. Small world!

Well I doubt we know each other Robyn. We moved A LOT when I was young. From Plainview we went to Floydada, Midland, Amarillo, Lubbock, then Tulsa, St Louis, Denver, and I went through High School in New Jersey before moving back to Corisicana Tx in 91 and then to Austin in 95...been here since.

About all I remember of Plainview is a resteraunt called the Burger Train Drive-In where the food came to you on model trains. As a kid it fascinated me. Oh and my Mom went to Wayland Baptist College there.

If you're ever down in Austin I'd love to see ANY of your toys. We have a really good local cruise-in at the corner of 183 and 1431 in Cedar Park every Sat evening and I'm usually there.

Again glad you found the group and looking forward to more posts and updates.

The bandit firebird brought a tear. Sniff sniff. Man I love those freaking wheels too. Maybe it was photogenic, but I swear...you could swim in that paint.

The copper 55 towards the end was my favorite.People really love their cars and these meets
prove it.
Remarkable cars and in huge numbers too.

That black TA was really sharp. I'd love to have a 70's Bird...still on the want list, along with a Grand National and a late-model 05-06 GTO (silver over red leather with a 6-spd please).

Glad you liked the pics Jim, and yes that copper 55 was SO sharp. Kind neat on the Sunbeam too....but if I'm wishing, I'd want a Sunbeam Tiger.

The copper caught my eye too. I really need a Grand National. A 1985 shortbed silverado, almost any elky, and a 1974 OCC. I'm torn as to whether my next late model car should be a vette, or a ctsv.
