Lorne, '96 Limited, the owner's name is Adam, a young Elvis fan, and, you'll love this.... a funeral directer at a local funeral parlor in the city of Rochester. He's a nice guy, and has a few Fleetwoods, and hearses that are his personal cars that from what I got from talking to him he bought from funeral homes. He will probably be signing up on this forum soon.

Thanks to Mike and Michelle for the hours of cooking and running to the store that does not come up on the radar. Not to mentions all the work at the fest!!! One of thier friends made the fruit salad for us. What a great bunch. Looking forward to next year!! Watkins Glen is a MUST!!
I know Mike was to modest to brag about his 2011 trophy win!! He worked hard to modify primp and polish his wonderful black long roof. Then his mini van won the sedan catagory (no sedans this year!!). I was sure to place the trophy on a prominent shelf in his home.
The toilet seat is great!! It will have its own place in my home.
It was great seeing everyone!!! LMK if anyone is traveleing through central PA (down 81 or 15). Stop and say hello!!

Great pics folks! I'd talked with my oldest kiddo and my Dad about going all last year, and seeing friends in NJ and PA on the trip, but I just could not make it work. Maybe next year.
Great pics, neat cars, and looks like a really nice day. Hats off to all you folks for putting the event together. Did you have a wagon cruise after or did Watkins Glen take the place of that?

Watkins Glen took the place of the cruise, but that wasn't the plan, there was a cruise planned, but no one seemed amendment about doing it so with Joel spending the day on his porcelain throne, we skipped it. The Glen was an hour drive each way, so that was a cruise of sorts, just not many cars.

That was Victor out of Albany. He came late (traveling with little one's is tough). Last year he had a sedan pulley an older trailer and sold some parts. You might remember him. Nice guy and a really nice family.

Lol, nice pics David. I'm looking at the Blue OCC with the tan interior, and notice we have the same taste in after market steering wheel covers. My leather on mine just started pealing and getting sticky, so I wound up putting a aftermarket wrap on it until I change out the steering wheel down the road. I don't think the air bag would ever deploy anyhow (Have my doubts) and I'm not sure if I would want one of those 1st gen air bags hitting me in the kisser anyhow. Thinking of a nice billet one at some point, but haven't seen one I like yet..., or that's in my price range.

Hey oldscruiser nevermind the navy,Camp Peary is just up the road. They have unmarked fixed wing and helicopters taking off and landing around the clock.Tha helicopters with the stealth mode extreme low noise blades are the neatest to watch go by.The navy is over at Cheatam Annex getting rearmed around the clock too.Only thing that hasnt came up the York river is an air craft carrier because they cant fit thru the bridge.Coolest thing was the battleship Iowa back in 1985 and it just barely fit thru the bridge. The pics are great! It's almost like I was there!
Wish we'd had more time to make it to the actual show for the whole day... But it was a good time when we finally made it!
Thanks to Mike and Joel and Tim and family for all the hard work setting it up and running it. I had a very enjoyable weekend, even though I spent it at a campground and had to see my my brother's funky mug the whole time!
Had a blast masking and spraying the truck and other stuff like the mugs, welding helmet, clocks, stickers, etc...
Made it home 360 miles in 4 & 3/4 hours even with a stop to pee. Averaged 76mph! Lol. Lil truck did awesome! Buried the needle more than once!
Great weekend!

It was a fun time,. the watkins glen run was interesting,. caravaning is not easy tho, on the way down we had traffic and that really varied our speed,. till we came to the passing lanes and then things were easier after sneaking by shamoo,.trip back was nice as yachtdriver and I set our speed at a steady 65mph,. Running around the glen was good,. even at the back of the pack for the first two laps,. was all good,..almost,.. letting the others get way ahead, until rounding a corner to find slower traffic,.an exciting moment trying to brake and turn with out tagging the bumper of the car in front that was taking a completely different line thru the corner,.
The damn envoy was really annoying,. period,.
I,m not sure i agree with tims written you tube comment about squealing tires being indicative of Losing it,.perhaps if he gets a little more track time in he'll come to realise that screaming tires are part of pushing a street cars envelope,. I wish i could have put on the OCC bumper i got from jay SS before we went to the track,. the crappy front bumper really stands out in the picture the trackside camaera took,.
A wagonfester gave me a nice parting gift, so it was put it on the car right away,.
Nice prime rib suppers at abigails,.so i missed the mac's drive in get together,.and we left a little earlier than some the day of the fest,to get showered and eat on the patio overlooking the canal,..
Folks have made the comment about abigails being expensive,. it's true,. but if you put $5.00 a month in the piggy bank from now till next year,. you'll have $60.00 which is more than enough to buy 2 really nice meals with a couple of beers,.and at times the service maybe a little slow( a little bizarre this year too), but the food is really good,.and once a year should be more than doable for everyone.
Nick

Abagail's has good food and the price isn't awful, just the service is when we take a large group in at once, even when they knew we were coming ahead of time. in '09 it was $22.00 a plate, they didn't have the "room" set up with enough tables and chairs (not enough floor space) and they ran out of luke warm Roast beef, on a buffet and didn't want to cook more. The discussion at dinner that night was how the dinner didn't go so well the year before either. If someone knows different, chime in and correct me. Again, Abagail's is a great little family restaurant with good food, and fair prices for couples, families, and maybe even small groups, but large groups are a no go, especially for $22.00 a plate. I don't think any of us mind paying for good food and good service, we just haven't had that at Abagail's yet.
IMO, Mike

Nice video lake. My question is this..., what rules do they have in effect if you break the rules? Just asking, because, I'm thinking on that last lap, I'm passing everyone including the pace SUV. : )
Uhhh, what are they going to do..., Ask me to leave? Sure.., I just finished my last lap...all flat out! : )
Anyhoo, do they have rules in effect for if you behave badly, other than banning you for life? Does the Pace SUV try and run you down? Do they Black flag you? lol.
Just curious.

The SUV was not the pace vehicle, Simply the first person who showed up in line.
The red Pickup truck was the pace vehicle.
Don't know what they'd do, but if it was banning everyone in the group for life, I be pissed.

Huh....., I thought at the end of your video, I saw a lead SUV with flashing lights, and some guy step out...., At least I thought it was a SUV..., you know how they all look alike...
Did you have to sign off on something, and was there fine print on rules? (would be curious as to what they were)
Not sure how all that works..., if they just say show me the money, and you can drive on my track, or do they have someone that gives a 10 minute safety & rule lecture?
I know when I used to do cart racing, they would have this long safety & Rule lecture that you had to sit through each time, even though you had heard the speech a hundred times prior.
Was the guy in the SUV with you guys, or was he just signed in with you because he had signed up for the Thun Rd. excursion, and just happen that you guys got stuck with him.
Personally..., I think I'd went up to him prior to going on to the track, and said that the Track officials wanted to speak with him prior to going on the track, and may have suggested that they said since he was in a SUV and the hight of his vehicle might impede other drivers if he was to loose control of his high riding SUV, so for safety reasons, he needed to be in the back of the crowd.
Just saying....

Ok, So here is the videos I took from the roof and dashboard. Audio is not that hot from the backwards cam as it was in the wind. So you may want to moderate your volume after the takeoff. The forwards cam is ok except for the clicking from the mount and the sounds of my cargo (beer) rattling around in the car. (I didn't get to check in before we went to the track so I had everything with me.)
Both videos are a little over 13 minutes long. They are also in HD if you have the bandwith.
You can see how S L O W the Envoy was. The truck kept slowing down to let it catch up. You can also see at the break (7:46) where they rushed to make sure they were in the lead again. They took off before the doors were closed!
Here is the Backwards cam. It was placed on the Roof Rack. Looks pretty good but the audio is no good over 20 mph.
This was a really fun event. I would definitely like to do this again some time. Or perhaps adult level Go-Karts? Be allowed to actually pass.....
Not 100% sure what side to post this on so I posed in both the Watkins Glen and Wagonfest threads.

Hey sweet video Yacht. Very nice! You were thinking ahead of the curve when you mounted the cam on your roof rack. Nice! When I saw the cam in the photo's that were posted earlier, I was wondering when that video was going to be posted. You are damned if you do, and damned if you don't have audio to go with it. You could edit the audio (wind noise) out, but a silent video does not have the same effect as one with, you could have added music, like some have, but as a video person, I always find that a bit cheesy, not unless it's in the right context of the video, or you can go the natural way with in car audio, with engine sounds and wife commenting on the speed limit on the track. Personally, I would have taken the in car audio (engine sounds) and meshed it with the outside cam, and segway between both video's and transitioned the video going between the outside, and inside cam. Of course..., that's just me running it through my mind on how I would put it together, but otherwise very nice stuff!
On the go cart front..., I will take on all challengers! Any go cart tracks up that way? Might be fun to get a bunch of us mixing it up..., Know what I mean Vern?

Do you mind if I post the video on my car domain site?
Thanks,
Alan

Oldscruiser, I totally agree about editing them both together. I just have not had the chance or time. It takes 2 hours just to put the video into a YouTube friendly format. Figured it would be more interesting with the original audio. There is also a bunch of stuff I have yet to post. Kind of a Blooper Reel if you will.
I live in Canterbury. It's the town just north of Concord.
