So, I got a new remote. I went to jump the 'programming connector' but I couldn't find it.
it's supposed to be the only cable not connected to anything, right?

I assume that box is the receiver.

That black box is indeed the receiver. The open connector is up higher in the trim piece along the back left side. I did not have to take anything apart to do mine as I pried the trim down a bit and the connector was right there. It is aboit mid-way down. This is the trim piece that the assist handle is mounted on.

While you have the cargo side off, you will note the black goo just below tbe window. That is where the receiver once was mounted but it fell in time. I suggest you use one of the screw eye tabs or zip tie it back up higher for better range when using the key fob.

If you've never done it before and it's like my '92 you ground the connector then after the keyless module cycles the locks and rear window release you hit any button on the remote once and it's programmed.

The FSM for my '92 OCC says the connector is behind the right D pillar trim and it was with all those wires behind the left tail light under the cargo area cover.
The keyless module was shot on mine, found out why the car came with no remote.

yep, programming was easy. I ground the connector by sticking a key in it.
