Yeah that's nuts. I could buy a used wheel at Wrench-A-Part for $10 and have the leather re-covered at that place in Dallas for under $200. It would look just as good and have new leather on it. Oh well!

That place above recovered the leather on my Custom Cruiser's wheel. They do great work and it was under $200 including shipping. Hmmm... I have a Lumina Eurosport wheel coming to me. Maybe instead of SEM i'll get it reskinned.....

| The Lumina wheel isn't leather. It is just molded to look like it. | |

| As much as the finish wears on these leather wheels I prefer the lookalike wheels. They may not have that leather feel but I can live with that. Jim |

SEM is a brand of paint. The product you want is Universal Color Coat. The color is Ruby Red. Some NAPA paint stores can mix it in a spray can. I would advise being careful using it in fabric, because it tends to make it stiff. Fabric also tends to suck up the paint like a sponge, and you will use a lot of paint getting it to the color you want. As for carpet, you would be better off putting new correct color carpet in the car. If you are just touching up faded areas, it will work if you wipe it while wet. Do not use too much paint on cloth of any kind, or you will probably not like the results. I have done a couple areas of cloth with SEM, and if you do not have to touch it, it is colored correctly, but very stiff and rough to the touch. The paint is designed for hard plastic, vinyl, and leather.

| YES!!! old school wheel looks like a great alternative than the grant that does not "go" with the rest of the car. besides the horn button sticks. i think the air bag leather shrunk or something. was able to finally find another one and it too kept honking. (currently have no horn.) let me know how much and how we can do this. does the buick logo come with it too? I really like the picture you had and the dash cluster. what did you do there? does it all work correctly. was reading another thread about a Z-28 cluster but results were less than desired. a tach would be cool to have with a large dial like that. i have hear about the hvac control deal but would be harder to look at i believe.
Fred, i was just thinking ahead to the ss shifter/console and seats. wondered if was possible. thanks. now just to get the time and money to work together and start this thing. once i figure out how to get my pictures up i'll share them. but first i need to "find" my garage again. it turned into a large storage shed. (24x24 heated and insulated) pity i cant even put a motorcycle in it now...arggghh!!

$100 + shipping for the wheel dyed any color of your choice. I will look and see but I'm pretty sure I have some of the Buick centers left. Go for the Z 28 cluster, it is awesome. I helped make the surround so I'm a little biased. - phantom 309 wrote:

i added the resistor and the airbag light is happy,. I should've mentioned, but I thought it was common knowledge, that you don't tighten those rings down as they are super fragile and rare as hens teeth. If I can find another I will shoot it and send it to you. But you didn't notice the color was off before you installed it? That was the correct color code for your car.

Common knowledge,. not always so common i guess. The ring broke before it was installed,.the one side the material used to glue it together looked like it didn't take so well, no worries, i still have some plastex left,.and i'll see if i can come up with a closer sem color,. The car is a 1995?

| Nick Check my two posts: http://www.impalassforum.com/vBulletin/showthread.php?t=233335&page=2I buy from Vinylpro.com This is the color, it is a custom mix: SEM Color Coat #4820 Medium Adriatic Blue Coincidentally, the original thread was from 5 years ago, started by the member that you bought the wheel from, looking for the correct color. He just never used the correct color; #4820 is a perfect match. That's what he needs to buy to redo your wheel. Tom | |

Tom Thanks Tom,. i doubt i'm going to freight the wheel all the way back to kansas,..it ended up being just a little over budget by the time it got here first time,..shipping is a killer up here,. I usually ship to buffalo, then drive down and get stuff,.
