| Couldn't hold out anymore. This is what I did with my whole Spring Break. It's not a flawless job by any means, but I'd say it transformed my car entirely. I've had people who I have never even seen compliment it, thumbs up on the road, neighbors stop to ask questions, etc. etc. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, and it's certainly not Concourse D'elegance material, but it's damn good for Turkey Run and it was a fun experience (and I gained a killer tan!). Here are some pics from start to finish: Started by using an eraser wheel to remove the beltline trim: Sanding and scuffing in progress... Hood sanded and removed, some high/low spots and stuff. Headlights removed, charcoal canister deleted. New bumper cover from Sprocket, scuffed and ready to mount. At this point, I think our neighbors thought we were rednecks. Car parts EVERYWHERE. Battery removed to prevent theft. Getting closer... Front clip removed! Triumph over rusty bolts! TAKE THAT, RUST BELT! Car on jacks, dad helping to grind some rust from the wheel wells which got rattle canned. Starting to look like a car again... First test panel... still wet. Looks promising! No in-progress pics, was afraid of getting paint on the camera lens... sooooo... Done. [img] [/img] [img] [/img] All back together and at school. May have a new appreciation for my red interior... Not 100% perfect, but hey. I think I can pull that tailgate dent out. Taking over the commuter parking lot. Mmmmm yes. D-pillar rust fixed. For my first bondo job ever, it's not bad. Will maybe re-visit in summer. So that's what I did on MY spring break. What about your kids?

| Congrats, buddy. I'm impressed. You just earned your man card.
Scuff and shoot those door handles when you get a chance. IMO, the two tone light/corners aren't working. I think it would look better with clear corners.

| LQQKING Good Roo - I agree with Jay but then again if you could score some headlight covers that would look pretty freaking sweet as well
P.S. - Now you need 2 update your Av.

| My trim was all beat up and gross. I decided scuffing and spraying it was easier. I want a new grille, but not an SS grille. Got some different plans |

| No rattle cans. I used a Wagner Double Duty fence paint sprayer and Rustoleum Satin Black by the quart. Thinned it 50/50 with acetone. I used 4 quarts for three thick coats and one dusting. |

| Ray, you really did a great job on this. I am not usually a fan of flat black (old bastard) but your wagon looks damn good. I have a set of stock corners that are in ok shape and a pair of clear corners that are almost brand new. I will bring to Daytona if you want either or both. Price is right, they are free to you. Let me know. Glenn | |

| paint job looks nice ray. leave the door handles and rims chrome. plasticdip looks like p00p on rims. also, put on the OCC grille and clear corners. and for gods sake...put on some red pinstripes or at least red emblems so you can tie the interior into the outside of the car. | |

| Crovo - I used quite a bit. The wind got a lot of it. Conditions weren't optimal, but I made due with what I had (a canopy, a tarp, a windy day, and one hell of a deadline ) Glenn - I'd appreciate it. I think the clear corners would be a cool idea. The satin black really does work on the car. It's like transformation. |

| It looks good, I'm a little sad to see the red go away, that red is a cool color. I think there are more satin black wagons out there now then red wagons, lol. But, I know that the paint on that car was beat, and the black goes awesome with the red interior! I look forward to seeing it in person... | |

| I'll hold my final judgement for Friday , but from here it looks like you did a great job.... Leave the door handles chrome to tie the wheels together, Red Rally stripes (easier) or ghostly red flames, clear corners, call it done | |

| No. Please. For the love of all things hot and firey, unless you can make flames that don't suck, do NOT do flames.
Also, don't do the rally stripes either.
Also, LITFA. | |

| Tires just like everyone else in FL. Worn out. Every time I am there, I can't believe the bald tires. There was a really nice Range Rover at a light next to me. I looked over, and the belts were showing on both tires I could see. Yeah, I know, no snow. It does rain there every now and then, though... | |

| lol They've got a lot of tread, just some damage on the edges because of bad alignment. I'm getting new tires in the fall after I do suspension stuff. For now I just keep an eye on it and rotate religiously. |
