| the front seats will bolt in after some new holes have been drilled and other slotted. I do like them.
the rear seats are a full 3 inches narrower than the stock caprice seats, but I'm still going to play with em and see what happens.
this mod will make my wagon only a 6 seater.

| Well it took a bit of tinkering and a few trips to the junkyard but I got the montecarlo's drivers seat in the wagon.
Gm built the power seat motors and mechanisms into montecarlo driver's bucket seat frame. The power seat controls were part of the seat bottom. I had to rebuild the seat bottom with parts from a passenger seat frame that I dismantled in the junkyard. I wanted to use the wagon's own power seat motors and mechanism and keep using the power seat controls on the door panel.
That part of the bucket sear conversion is done, the seats are nice, fit me well.
Now for a console, the montecarlo's console is both too narrow and too tall. the front of the console is half way up the radio face. when sitting on the trans hump. First thought would be to cut it down, but it would still be too narrow.
So I searched in my collection of malibu/elcamino parts where I pulled out an old dusty malibu console shell. The base of the malibu/elcamino console fits the wagon's trans hump like a glove. Unfortunately it's too low for the wagon, I put the wagon's original center armrest over the console and that gave me the correct height.
Well this means that I'm going to have to build myself a custom console to suit my needs
photos of the seats in the wagon will come in time, I ran out of day light to take some tonight.

| Sadly it's been a few days since I got the monte seats in the wagon, I don't like em anymore! its more like they don't like me, the driver's seat just don't fit my body type very well, so I'm going to have to remove them and look for something else

| Now I've been doing some house cleaning and found the 1995 caprice/impala sales brochure the salesman gave me back in the fall of 94 when I looked at a new 95 impala ss
I know this is a Canadian sales brochure but in the standard options list, it says that all wagons got factory remote keyless entry. so I pulled the driver's side rear cargo panel off my 95 wagon and there's nothing there, no remote thingie like on my tbi wagons.
so did they change the location of the remote thingie on 95 caprice wagons? or was that just for all Canadian caprice wagons?

| Pretty sure that was just for Canadian wagons. Caprices didn't get keyless standard, but I believe RMWs did here in the states. |

Interesting. My Caprice factory service manual has all the wiring diagrams, module location, and programming procedure. Kind of odd that they'd include that if it didn't apply. Then again, there is evidence of other things that didn't make it to production in the FSM... - buickestate wrote:

As for me... 5% please. |

| I love the look of that wagon. IMO, those poncho rallye II's suit it perfectly, and I like the whitewalls. Are those 5x5 rallye's or 4.75"x5 with adapters?
Also, I gotta ask- what's with the console? It doesn't really fit the car (looks like the console used in 80's cutlasses.)

| Pat,really like the body color tinting for a sedan delivery look.Considered doing that with my OCC, but my tint person would only use what the state says is legal.May still do it with my RMW!That darkest blue tint would be perfect! |

It doesn't really fit the car (looks like the console used in 80's cutlasses.) nope these are the rare as in hard to find big bolt gm 5 on 5's the console is out of a 78-81 malibu/78-88 monte carlo, elcamino. it's just a busted up old shell from my malibu part collection, it don't look at home there but the base of it fits the floor contours so it will be use as a template when I build up a propper console.

| I finally got my new amplified antenna mounted, and ran the new antenna wires. I gave up looking for a correct stock am/fm/cd... so I put the sony head unit that was in my wrecked 91 it still works great, still don't know why it came with a hand held remote control.......
as for my new antenna it requires a 12 volt power source. I was thinking of using the power wire for the stock power antenna, does anyone know what wire that would be?
sorry ran out of daylight tonight so pictures will have to wait. the new antenna is a little discrete shark fin that fits just under the rear roof rack rail at the back of the roof. you would actually have to look for it to see it it blends in and thats what I wanted

I want to say "blue with white tracer" but I'm going from memory and I think that's actually up at the head unit end of things.
