PostSubject: engine computer reprograming   engine computer reprograming Icon_minitimeThu Apr 19, 2012 3:59 pm

I recently put a used computer in my '96 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon. Now the speedo reads slow and the odometer is off. Can I take the computer to a dealer facility and have it checked to see if it is programed correctly for the engine and rear end?

Thanks, Wardo

I don't know. I bought it on eBay and they did not specify. Just said that it fit several GM cars of that era. Can't it be reprogramed for a specific model? If so, by whom?

The only guy I know who does PCM reprogramming is this guy:

He used to be pretty cheap, but not so much anymore.

Talk to PCM for less and tell them you situation. They will want to know the numbers from the computer. There should be a tag on it. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] is another option
