According to the FSM, it is a #37. I do not know if they are available. I do not know if I have one, because I do not remember exactly what they look like, I believe they have a base attached, and if that is so, you may be able to find the bulb without the base at Radio Shack.

You cann use LEDs anywhere. You just have to get one that is 12 volt, or put a resistor in series with a standard one. About a 600 ohm 1/4 watt should be sufficient. I think a 570 ohm is a standard resistor.

LED's are still too directional to be the optimum choice for this application. You want light emanating from the sides of the bulb to light up the lens. Regarding the mount, it uses the same 'slide' base as the heater controls use. In fact, you can use those bulbs in a pinch.
