| I just bought an opti from someone on ISSF that was advertised as a Delco model. It is not in a box. How can I tell if it's the real deal, and not a cheapie from China? | |

| I'm not sure, but if I remember correctly, the Delphi cap is opaque. You can almost see the wires inside of it. The Chinese ones are solid in color. | |

| It should have a mitsubishi optical sensor inside (look for the little Mitsu symbol) Here is a pic, although this is an aftermarket opti, the sensor was transplanted and is OEM [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

Krz that used to be the case but newer units come with a darker cap [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

| Look for the GM 8-digit part number laser-dotted into the aluminum casting. Aftermarket units don't have that.
Honestly, the only reason I would ever pay more for a Delco opti is for that sensor, which you can buy on the electronics market for about $55 or so. Or... when your opti wears out, just swap the sensor over to the new aftermarket opti and away you go.

The guy was selling a new Delco opti for $200. I liked the price. Where do you find the sensor? What is it called? I remember that Wolf was selling them a couple of years ago.

Where do you find the sensor? What is it called? I remember that Wolf was selling them a couple of years ago. Wolf was selling complete opti's. I think NoDubs was selling just the sensors. I bought one of those complete opti's only to have it start ticking when the engine got warm. It did not have a mitsubishi sensor in it.
