-Mark Tentatively, yes. This Midwesterner would certainly like to attend such an event, but I really can't drop everything and go to the eastern US to pull it off. I only say "tentatively" because right now a number of things are up in the air for me, and I have a lot of projects going on. I'm not moving anywhere, but there is some potential for upheaval in the employement department down the line. I don't know what will or will not happen.

| I still say Memphis. Possibly St. Louis. Find a good middle-ground for everyone. | |

| There's always the bluegrass state. plenty of nice parks and such that allow you to reserve the pavilions free of charge. | |

| If the Chicago Area is OK there is a Auto Museum in VOLO IL.. They cater to the area car clubs. They have a large parking area that we could gather in. They also have group discounts for admission..
The HERD Club is talking about a trip in mid October on a Saturday..
Look at web site www volocars com
There is a Hampton INN in Mc Henry IL for lodging..
I can check with my Friends in St Louis, GRAIL Club for some info.. They co hosted the ISSCA Nationals in 2007 and 2008 at Gateway Motor Speedway.

I like the idea of a Wagonfest (or equivalent/similar) in Illinois. Yet I'll readily admit I'm biased. St. Louis works about the same for me as does Chicago area stuff. Kentucky is a bit further than I'd want to go, but I'd probably do it anyway.

| I hosted a b-body meet at Volo several years ago, it was a good time, and worked out well. | |

| Perhaps if more people would put them selves on our Forum map, it would be easier to "see" where the center of midwest folks would be. If you have not done so, Please put yourselves on our map at: http://goo.gl/maps/Smyr | |

http://goo.gl/maps/Smyr GREAT suggestion! Let's see where everyone lines up and try and find a happy medium. Bill if you're worried about a long trip we could hike it together. I'm only about an hour east of Chicago. I'd like some if our brethren from MI to come too!

| Or I would do the drive to St Louis - St Charles Mo is nice too. Or Kentucky might be nice. |

| Is there serious planning for this event? I'm working with Chris to have WF 13 dash plaques done in time for Daytona WF. | |

| I second St. Charles Mo. right outside of St. Louis. It has a nice long road by a park that runs along the river. Plus, St. Charles has the old river walk with shops, a brewrey, places to eat and about 1mile away a casino. A little something for everyone. Being from Chicago, Volo would also be great, but I travel to St. Charles several times a summer and that might be a nice more central location. Either one would be good for me. | |

| Once again , My suggestion goes out to ALL members to put themselves on our map. Having just been there, the epicenter of Midwest members seem to be more along the area of Louisville or Evansville. | |

| I highly doubt anyone lives in Louisville, KY or Evansville, IN (which is really splitting hairs on the map)
Who is planning this? It's gonna be in their area...and so far it looks like nowhere.

That's really the main point. Without someone to take the initiative and step up to the plate to get it going , it won't happen. Wagon fest in New York is about fifty miles from my house. It takes picking a date, making a phone call and pulling out a credit card to secure a pavilion/tent for most places. The tent at the Original Wagonfest in NY is $100.00 to start with. Why NY? Because our beloved leader Ruphrax (Fred) lived and sold wagons there. He stepped up to the plate and we've carried on. Keep in mind you will never please everyone Dave

Can someone explain how to do this or tell a dummy where to find the sticky instructions? Indianapolis would make a good place if racing history/museum interests anyone.
