PostSubject: Noisey rear end..   Noisey rear end.. Icon_minitimeThu Sep 06, 2012 11:44 pm

I took my wagon to my Local mechanic on Tuesday and got it back today. He found that the axle barrings were bad its now quiet as a mouse no more whine and grinding noise. I found out that I have 28 Spline axles so I can now order the Detroit TruTrac and Gears..
So I am going to call out to Randy's and get the ball going..

Did you or the previous owner replace the 30 spline axle shafts with 28 spline axle shafts ?

If not, and you have the OEM 30 spline axle shafts, you need this truetrac: 913A481

They did the repair for $250 but they did some warranty as they replaced the Pinion seal a few months ago. I may jack up the wagon and pull out an axle and count the spline teeth my self.

You don't need to. They are 30 spline. Lots of mechanics think they know everything. Older B bodies had 28 spline.
