| Those are probably 22s. I agree, that's too large.
18s or 20s would look just fine, though.
Also of note - 20" tires are becoming more common as many OEMs are going to bigger wheels. Something to consider. |

| If you go SS wheels, paint them grey like the bottom of the car and leave the lip aluminum. | |

| Crack pipe... I'd rather get a nice set of aftermarket wheels then shell out that much for 15" wheels. | |

| Neat link but I can have wheels polished here for $75 each...and paint them myself! I actually put a "wheels wanted" post on Craigslist yesterday looking for a set of the factory turbines I had on my '89 OCC. Will see if anyone locally responds to me! http://austin.craigslist.org/pts/3645585131.htmlTo me these look bigger and classier than my stock '92 wheels. If I can find a good used set, I'm going to clean them all up and go back with Radial T/A's like I had on my '89. I loved the way they looked. Will save the '92 wheels in case I ever want to go back stock again. We'll see! -Mike | |

they were limited production in the early 80's, hard to find, so rare that many olds sites and so called olds experts don't even know they actually exist

| A set of these old SS IV Polycast wheels would be cool. 5x5 from early '70s Delta 88. | |

| It's a 28" tire, same as the 235/70/15's. Not too tall. | |

| 28" is decent on a 15" but looks funny on a 17", IMO.. | |

| Just an update, and possible pics coming tomorrow. I found a deal on some nearly-new 235/70/15 BFG Radial T/A's for my Olds wagon. I'd installed some 235/60/15 RWL tires on the car earlier in the spring, and while they ride and handle fine, they don't fill out the front wheel-well enough...and it looks a little silly. I posted about those here: https://gmlongroof.4umer.com/t8170-235-60-15-too-small-for-our-wagons . If I was willing to lower the car a bit in the front, they would look fine, but I don't want to sweat going over speed bumps and steep driveways...want to keep the stock height. I've also noted that at toll-road speeds here (85mph) that the Olds speedometer is reading way off due to the short-sidewall tires. It also feels like the engine is working harder than it needs to at those speeds. I'd really considered putting Impala SS wheels on the Olds. I still love the way the Impala's look, but my stock Olds wheels are still in nice condition, and with the correct-sized tires, I think I'll like the look. SO we'll see! Working on a deal for those 70-series BFG's now. Payday is tomorrow. I'm going to give the 60-series tires to my Dad. They're the right size for his Camaro. Kill two birds with one stone. Pics tomorrow if it works out! -Mike Oh and PS, these T/A's are the new E4 model. I need to Google and see what E4 means...... | |

Sprocket is in town, and I'm hoping we can meet up. We might hit a salvage yard Sunday morning. We'll see. Tomorrow I don't know. Think Dad wants to play with his Camaro...but it's in the upper 90's by early afternoon....and I'm a wuss when it gets this hot. I'm thinking about sleeping in, then cleaning around the house and taking the wagon to the Cruise-In at dusk Sat evening. We'll see! I'm sure liking the new tires. I put the GPS in the window and got on the highway. Speedo and GPS are MUCH closer now. Speedo still 88 when I'm going 85 on the toll road, but that's tons better than before. It was into the low 90's when I was going 85 with the 60-series tires. The 70-series are a ton better! -Mike

- Uh, no.
I wouldn't choose to put 15's on anything I own, simply because tire availability is so poor.
Even 16’s are becoming more difficult to find in the wider sizes.
Witness the proliferation of 17” factory-styled wheels available over @ www.yearone.com
Also, as you have access to used tires, the selection so much better in the larger diameters.
For an OCC, I think a set of 17” C4 Corvette sawblades fitted with Olds centercap emblems would give the “stock, but better” look to the car.
Plus they can be picked up dirt cheap. Add a set of inexpensive adapters and you’re done.
- J I really like this look & idea. Would these wheels fit a 96 RMW? Or what year Corvette would, isn't the bolt pattern different? This is a 92 Corvette size:OEM tires: 275/40-17 (652x275mm). Bolt pattern: 5x120.65 (5x4.75). Offset: 40 to 60 mm. Tires up to 672x295mm (front). Rims up to 20x11.0" (front). This is 96 RMW: (711x235mm). Bolt pattern: 5x127 (5x5). Offset: -12 to 15 mm. Tires up to 731x255mm. Rims up to 22x9.5".

| He specified in his post "Add a set of inexpensive adapters"
It's been done before. C4, C5, and C6 wheels have all been done on B-bodies. |

| I see you put on the adapters which change the bolt pattern and the offset. Any ideas of amount of adapter MM to make them fit? | |
