| 235/60/15 too small for our wagons? A friend locally is selling a set of RWL Road Huggers, same thing I have on my Cutlass. They ride fine and have worn well. If these will fit my wagon, on my stock OCC wheels, I'm going to nab them.
Thoughts??? | |

| Tires are about 26"tall and rims are 15x7 so go BUY them quick! |

| Sweet, they're mine. I wish they were Radial T/A's but they only have 1500 miles on them and look brand new.
Will be keeping the stock OCC wheels. Pics this weekend!

| They're going to be shorter than stock but should look ok. Will probably handle a little better with a shorter sidewall. | |

| I pick them up at noon and will have them mounted after work. I hope they don't look too small.
New Radial T/A's were going to cost me about $500. These are way under half that price. They are coming off an '86 Monte Carlo SS. He only put 1500 miles on the tires, bought here at Discount Tire, and now is going with some bigger aftermarket wheels on the Monte.
The white-walls on my OCC still have good tread, but they also have some dry-rot. I have no idea how old they are, and they're off-brand tires. They got me from NC to Texas, ride smooth and have not given me problems, but I want to replace them before driving to NJ next month...and despite the fact that they may look "right" on my OCC....I want to makethe car look a little younger.
Fingers crossed. Pics later. Hope it looks good.

| You aren't missing out on much: the Radial T/As are a fairly poor tire. What's the stock tire size on an OCC ? | |

| BFG Radial T/As suck. I'd rather have Cooper Cobras.
You can see how old your white wall tires are by looking at the date code... You're looking for a 4 digit number. It will be after the DOT numbers. Something like (0308) which would denote the third week of 2008. It might only be on one side of the tire.

| Picked them up over lunch. Other than being dirty, the tread looks brand new, and there is still some blue around the RWL letters. Ajax will be my friend later tonight. Can't wait to get off work and have them mounted up. They are not really tall in the sidewall....hope it doesn't look too goofy. We'll see right? -Mike | |

| I actually had a pair of those on the wagon for awhile when I cut up a tire with a bad tie rod. They weren't bad, and these were already pretty old when I got em.
Where you going in NJ, Mike?

| Now you're going to need to lower the wagon to get rid of the wheel gap. | |

Where you going in NJ, Mike? The Blazer and Z28 are in Chatham, not too far from Morristown. About 30-mins out of NYC. Got to pic a long weekend next month.

Yep I'm worried about the gap between the tires and the front fenderwells. It may look odd. We'll soon see.

| Tires will be fine for the trip since you wont use the Denali.Even with the gas mileage difference its still a much better towing/travel rig.If you dont like them put them on the camaro.Mike I would take 2 of your takeoff tires just in case you have a need for a tire coming back. These will fit both vehicles if need be. |

| Its amazing how something as simple as RWL tires can completely change a cars appearance without doing anything else! |

| If I'd had the funds I'd have gone with 235/70/15's. If you have the budget, they'll fill up the wheel-wells better, but these were too cheap to pass up. That said, the new tires rode fine on my San Antonio run this weekend, and I'm getting used to the look now. And I took a highway flyover at 70mph with no tire squeal. Pretty neat, with the white-walls I would have been screaching for sure! I think the car would look better if the nose were lowered just a bit, but for now it's fine. The next set of tires will be 70-series for sure though. Even a tad too short in the sidewall, I DO like these better than the old white-walls. -Mike

COL Yeah my Dad said the same thing...about liking the white-walls better. The white-walls may look more correct, but the RWL tires make the car feel a little younger to me. I will say I like the sawblade wheels a lot better now! -Mike

-Mike Mike, I dont mind the lettered tires and agree they look good. More agressive. Younger. But the 60 series look to short. Like hot wheels toy cars. Donut tires. I'm with Dad but I get it! It's your car. Dick

| Well if I come across a deal on some 70-series RWL tires later I may get them and put these 60-series on my Cutlass with some 442 15-inch wheels. The 60-series is the most popular size for the G-body 15-inch wheels and would look more "correct" on that car. Regardless I never leave a project alone. -Mike | |

| So the answer is YES, without lowering the front end, the 60-series tires are too small/short for our B-wagons! The new 70-series BFG's fill out the front wheel well a lot better than the 60-series did! Before w/60-series: After w/70-series: Before: After: I answered my own question. Live and Learn! -Mike | |
