I had to run to downtown Memphis this afternoon to begin my contribution to jury duty. On the way back to the office, I think I ran over a hardware store! Shocked This is one tire folks; left rear.

After yanking all this steel I count 19 nails. affraid

The rim was on the ground when I went to leave work at 5:00. Thankfully, most of them entered almost completely sideways only penetrating the outer tread. I could only detect two leakers which have been fixed. We'll see how it does. I haven't found nails in any other tires. Perhaps a well-timed yet ill-fated lane change? scratch

After that many punctures, I'd scrap that tire.

It'll be time for a whole new set before long so I'd rather not do it piecemeal. Besides, it's like a fun science experiment. Razz

Just keep an eye on it. I'm in the tire business and a tire that's been punctured that many times probably won't be safe much longer.

Agree with Tim,even though you only had 2 leakers the tread belts have been seriously weakened
and are a accident waiting to happen. When it goes it wont give you much of a warning so be careful!

So... the real story please?

Why did the police lay out a spike strip, and how did you not see it? Wink

WOW! I'd be on my knees looking at your other tires. Glad you didn't have a blowout!

Oh, believe me. I will run it for a while longer. It's the engineer in me that wants to see what this thing can do at this point. BTW, it's a Made in U.S.A. General tire.

Good luck Greg. I might be tempted too for local driving. Keep us "posted".

I wouldn't risk it - That's what road hazard insurance is for...

Road hazard insurance is a bunch of crap. That tire barely has any tread left anyway. He's due for a new set.

Worth it when they are doing major construction near work and I have gotten three new tires for free over the last year because of it...

To quote my dad. " If you run your hand across it and you can catch your fingernail in it. It still has tread." LOL

Also, "If it is round and holds air, drive it!"
