I scuffed one of my Firehawks Rolling Eyes and would like to fix them by touching up the letters. Someone posted a WW paint that works well and doesn't brown. Anyone remember who posted it or what it was?

That was 1993 Roady Man who posted it. That much, I do remember.

White shoe polish... Hahaha. I remember seeing my Dad use it on our '72 Cutlass when I was a kid.

Bummer one of your Firehawks got curbed!

No kidding! It was my own fault thou. I was trying to parallel the car into a spot that was a bit too small for it and I kissed it. Thankfully its only on a couple letters.

Justin, clean them. That white is so thick I highly doubt you took it off.

Post a pic.

Yes, you didn't take the white off, you added dirt. The white goes down under the black sidewall. Just clean it. Start with a magic eraser, then get progressively more abrasive. Westley's Bleche Wite will probably work/help, too!

Get some purple power and use it full strength. Take a full stiff bristle nylon brush and scrub them letters. Then dip the brush in water and scrub again. Rinse and repeat until they are gleaming again.

I always use a brillo pad, gets the white gleaming white and keeps them clean for a really long time.

I wish I could get away with running those wheels in Colorado, sadly chrome and magcloride do not mix.

These are summer only rims. I would hate to see what winter would do to them.

That's why I went with the SS wheels, they can go year round. I actually did buy some centerlines for winter tires, but I haven't wanted to spend the money on a set of winter tires. So far, it looks like I'll make it through the winter on my all seasons.

I love those wheels and those tires. Looks FANTASTIC!

I still think I'd like this setup on my OCC, with Rocket centers, of course!

Honestly, they would hold up very well in winter. It's chromed aluminum that peels off in sheets. Chromed steel lasts a loooooooong time.
