OK, finally got the pics hosted so here they are..

The fuse block isn't flush, because I'm an electrical idiot! I bought the wrong one

Rear Power mod 100_1373

Rear Power mod 100_1374

and the ground......

Rear Power mod 100_1375

The spare wire here is for future expansion (in case the 8AWG isn't enough)

Rear Power mod 100_1376

complete with a 50A fuse

Rear Power mod 100_1378

Where it all starts...

Rear Power mod 100_1379

Through the firewall

EDIT: the wire is run along the door sills and around the rear set. Removing the rear seat bottom makes things MUCH easier. Then behind the "C" pillar trim, under the speaker and into the drivers storage area.

BTW, all works as it should, no fires yet!!

The blue wire loom will be replaced with black shortly and for those interested, the cigarette lighter holes were drilled with a 7/8"spade bit for a PERFECT fit.

Total cost?
$30 for 40feet of 8AWG wire (Wal*mart)
$3 for the fuse block (Autozone)
$6 for 2 lighters (Autozone)
$0 for the inverter (I've had it for years)

$39 plus time

Robert

Nicely done! I guess the wire runs along the door sill to the back?

I forgot about this mod, I am sure the kiddo would love to power her DVD player while in the tail gunners seat, beats the hell out of the long cord and y I have on the front power socket.

Nice job!

One question, why not run the power wire down the frame rail underneath the car?

I too am electrically challanged!

In my "advanced age", I have come to the realization that gravity is a mean SOB. I went from a 46" chest with 20" biceps to a 44" gut and swollen wrists clown

Either that, or it was just easier to run it inside bounce

Seriously, I had issues mounting the wire to the frame rails and didn't want to poke any more holes into the underside. I don't run anything outside/under the car unless I absolutely HAVE to.

Well running a power wire of that size on the outside of the car would be safety issue too. Much safer inside the car. I will add a rear power port when I add my subwoofer thing back there.
