| Hi, followed a fellow "B" wagon owners thread over. Honestly, I thought I was registered here long ago. Anyway, like many of you, there has always been a GM wagon in my family and I guess I was destined to carry on the tradition. My 95 Caprice, I bought in '02 to replace the old 78 Caprice. These cars are not super common in Canada and the 95 was not , show quality underneath by any means. The plan was to keep it maintained as a driver. As usual, I couldn't leave things alone. Did all the typical , wheels, susp, cam, heads , Touched into the 12's with it. In '05 I did some big brakes and the slicks wouldn't fit so it stopped visiting the drags. '07, the dingy underside was getting to me and a full under body , with new frame, redo was undertaken. During that time I converted to a T56 trans. About 2010 , the LS swap bug bit me and the result was the car now. Although it never sees salt anymore, it is still a driver. Gerry, Vancouver BC Canada | |

| That pic makes the LS engine look REALLY far back in the engine bay. Is that set back from where an LT1 would sit? | |

| Thanks all for the welcome. Joel, more or less , the bellhousing face is close to stock. I say close because , When I put in the t56 behind the LT1 I did not alter the engine position but it used a Weir housing which is slightly longer than an LT housing. When I put in the LS, the housing is SSR which is about 7mm longer than the normal LS but I did not alter the trans position. The LS block is shorter than LT and the bellhousing flange is level with the rear of the RH cylinder head. So, measuring from the front or head center lines, the engine is back measuring from the back, the bell housing face more or less is not back.
Tim, getting them ready Beretta for Sonoma , and we were invited to Laguna in Aug ( a big deal for this class of car) First time they are allowing this era of TA cars Mustangs and Porsche, more or less there Camaro , still waiting Saleen S7R still have to do the engine, and everything else as it was put away wet

| Hey Gerry! Good to see you here, too! I've been following the build of that beauty since you first started posting about it. I'm still in awe on the rotisserie pics... Nevermind the LS7 swap!
I didn't know about the race cars. Too cool.

And a "chip" The three ICI Berettas Chevrolet contracted C&C build were "no budget" What ever it took, and they finished the two primary cars 1+2 in the TA championship. Because of their Splay Valve heads they were heavily protested and had weight added to them throughout the season. SCCA banned them at the end of the season. Ours went back to GM for display , the engines went back to Katech, and they never raced again. Was quite a job to round up and make many of the engine bits. The S7R is a new height for unbelievable costs Tip of the iceberg was the socket to remove the wheel nuts ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, over 2K The absolute fluke of the century, after the cars ran Lemans they returned to the US and were split up. When "ours" was bought up to Canada and we started to try and locate parts etc, we find the other car and some irreplaceable parts is less the 50 miles from us!!! Just glad I spend the money on these cars, not supply the money

| Welcome aboard Gerry! Glad to see you on here as well! I like this video better: http://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=related&v=aHna5rw4CVsPlaying with Forza I've run many virtual laps on this course so it's pretty cool for me to hear the driver shift, brake, accelerate. Watching the 7-11 Car makes me realize its that squirrelly in real life, lol Gotta hand it to the game developers but I'm sure the real lap is far more visceral! | |
