| Hey there folks!
My name is Bob, I'm 25 years old and I live in the northwest Chicagoland burbs. After a painfully long time without one, I finally possess my very own B-Body...a 1993 RMW. It's burgundy with wood (the WB4's are sharp, but I need the wood!), and the burgundy cloth interior. It's my dream wagon, and is exactly how I would have ordered one brand new if I had the chance. I'll try to post some pictures asap, as well as some more details on options once I decode the SPID.
I spent my life growing up in and around wagons. Until 2001, when she finally traded up to a Suburban, the only thing my Mom would drive was a Buick wagon. Since I was born in '88, we had an '83, '86', '87', '88, and then finally a '93. All Buicks, all woodies. The '93 that we had was around the longest. It was white with the burgundy leather interior. My Dad bought that for my mom when it was only a couple years old, and we went around the world and back in that wagon...or at least it felt like it!
I've had the car bug from my Dad since birth, and also owe my love of wagons to him. He and I have some older projects ('64 Buick Electra 225, '72 Chrysler Town and Country Wagon, and '71 Olds 98-MINE), but even after only having my Roadie for a few days, I can safely say that this is the happiest I've ever been in my automotive life/career, haha!
So, the new Roadie (or Essie, as I call her), isn't without flaws, but what 21 year old car isn't. I need to fix the two back passenger windows, so if anyone could point me in the direction of a helpful tutorial on replacing window rollers, that would be fantastic! The only other things that are buggy is that the factory CD player doesnt work, and the power antenna motor is going south on it as well.
OH! And if anyone can hook me up with a grill that they need to part with, that would be awesome! I know that they're not hard to come across, but they go quickly in the parts section, as I'm sure you all know! Haha!
Thanks in advance to everyone here. I can't wait to get to know everyone! Thanks for having me!

| Welcome!!!
I was born in Evanston and spent most of my childhood in Morton Grove..... Until we moved to Michigan.
Is that a IL/WI car? If so, check for rust...... NOW! (well, wait until after the thunderstorms....)

| Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I've been a long time lurker of this board, and the impalassforum too. I can't tell you how nice it is to finally have a real reason to come around and get involved!
It hasn't been easy to jump in and be as active here as I'd like right away, but getting up at 5:30am to commute 50 miles to downtown Chicago to work, and then not get home until 9 or 10 at night is pretty much all consuming!
Luckily, I'll only be doing that for another month or so, as I am quitting and moving to Kansas to go back to school. If any of you have heard of McPherson College in McPherson, KS, I am starting there in the fall as I have been accepted to their classic auto restoration school, which I am beyond excited for! Cars have always been my passion, but I've never had the time or the right outlet to be able to learn the hands on skills, which this program is all about. I am incredibly excited to stop wasting time and turn a passion/obsession into a career.
Starting school in Kansas was actually the reason I bought the Roadie, as I knew I would need a big, safe, dependable, and stylish car that was capable of going back and forth between Chicago and Kansas when called upon. So this life/education/career move was the perfect excuse to finally bring a B-body wagon into my life.
Anyway, enough of all that! In wagon news, I replaced the rear window supports yesterday, as the originals were basically useless. It was a 5 minute job, but it was the first and only thing I've been able to do with the Roadie so far, besides put about 400 miles on it already, so I felt it was worth sharing!
Now if the weather would cooperate and stop raining every other day so that I can finally wash, wax and detail the ol' girl, I'd be a happy camper! I think I'll be making a trip to the junkyard this weekend as well, to try and find a good grille...fingers crossed!
And if you couldn't tell, I'm a bit of a talker! I guess if I find out I'm no good at restoring old cars, I can always try to make a career out of telling extremely long stories about incredibly mundane activities. Haha!
Bob
