I installed big brakes on my mini-van..... Yeup, my wife's van. It's a '04 Chevy Venture, and the brakes can get overwhelmed when loaded up with kids, and stuff. The Venture front rotors are 11" in dia., with single piston calipers, the 12" front rotors, with the 2 piston calipers from a '06-'10 Chevy Impala bolt right up to the Venture with only a slight tweaking of the flexible brake hose. The Venture comes with 15" wheels from Chevy, so those need to go, and 16"+ need to be installed, I found '02 Impala SS wheels fit nice. The same set up works on 1997-2004 Chevy Venture, Pontiac Montana, and Oldsmobile Silhouette.
All you need for parts are: 2006 Chevy Impala front rotors, calipers, caliper brackets, pads, and 16"+ wheels.... That's it, it all literally bolts up. Now, it still doesn't stop on a dime, or throw you through the windshield, but it is an improvement, and it's all easy to find GM parts that are readily available at the JY, or local auto parts store.

My 17 year old son picked the caliper paint color..... I'm glad Auto Zone didn't have florescent green.

Sweet. Smile Easy, cheap, readily available brake upgrade for the family hauler... How can you not do it?

Needs more lower, though. Wink

Green calipers would have made it an Irish van.

Now come up with a cheap replacement for rear discs for our wagons.Question
