Blower inside staying on Empty
PostSubject: Blower inside staying on   Blower inside staying on Icon_minitimeSun Aug 18, 2013 1:23 pm

Back again, this time the blower motor is staying on after the car is turned off. I would guess the switch is stuck, but do not know where it is.

Anyone have this problem before?

Thanks

Looked through the forum and found this issue discussed before, but when I looked for the blower control module, I did not see the wires from the blower motor going to it. I unhooked the blower motor and tracked those wires going up into the dash. Do they come back down to the module?

Thanks

The purple wire should go from the motor to module. The black one goes to ground (don't think it went to the module for that).

Wasn't there some add-on module that GM added to address complaints that the HVAC system would start to smell if the AC wasn't shut off a few minutes before parking the car?  This was years ago and I haven't heard of it mentioned anytime recently.  Maybe this car has it? The module would force the blower fan to run a few minutes after engine shutoff to evaporate any remaining condensation in the module/tray.

I do remember mention of that module and saw them on close out on rockauto too.

Does the blower ever stop? Or does it drain the battery?

Sorry it took so long to get back here.

Ordered the blower control module from the local GMC/Caddy dealer, $133.52 plus tax.

Picked it up the next morning and installed it at a roadside park so the wife and I would have AC for our ride to Rolla.

Thanks all for the help!
