Hi,
I'm planing in putting a dual exhaust from a 95 Roadmaster in my 93.
What can I expect in terms of:

performance
gas millage

Thanks in advance.

Well without knowing exactly what you currently have, its just a guess. DO you have a stock single exhaust? DO YOU HAVE AN LT1 OR AN LO5? Well my crystal ball is telling me the motor will have a little deeper sound,it should get maybe 1 or 2 mpg better and probably make about 5-7 more hp.
Just saying, the stock roady dual exhaust system is pretty restrictive and very quiet,if possible
try and loose the resinators and replace them with a straight piece of pipe, that will help a little. ed

Are they both wagons? The sedan tailpipes do not work on the wagons.

With the TBI motor you will need to change your transmission cross member at a minimum. Not sure exhaust will do any thing for your fuel mileage. Loosing back pressure may change your torque curve a bit. It would be easier to go to a 3" single exhaust, but getting over the rear axle then becomes a challenge. Several folks have done it and I am sure will chime in.

thanks,
yes, the other car is a wagon as well.

both being wagons, is still a hard job to do?
I though is just a matter of cutting the one in mine about the same distance as the other exhaust was cut and get some hangers for the left side.. is it much more than that?

The trans cross member is different from TBI to LT1 cars as Tim already said. The Lt1 cross member does not just bolt up to the TBI frame rail, I believe the driver side needs an extension piece for some mounting holes. The air compressor for the rear air shocks is mounted right where the driverside muffler needs to be, so if you still have that hooked up and working you're going to have to (re)move the comp. as well. The exhaust manifolds are different as well, I think you can put LT1 manifolds on your TBI though.

Sound differences will completely depend on muffler choice.

The performance increase will be minimal, and more than likely only noticeable at the top end of the rpm range.

MPG increase.... probably not much if any at all. Keep the resonator(s) they are not much of a restriction, it's just louvered straight pipe.

In the end it will be a pain to convert it over, but since you have all or most of the parts, go for it. I still would, looks cool, and that's what our wagons are really all about.Wink

Have fun with it, and take pics.

thanks Mike..

I'm planing on taking the air pump components out, so the rear should not be a problem.. but is not going to be a "plug & play" like I though.. hmm! :/

No, no plug and play, but not that bad either, don't let my negative points stop you. Like I said, I'd still do it.

Don't forget to grab the exhaust shields from the LT1 car from around the gas tank.

Get the heat shields for the driver's side cat as well. You can get an exhaust hanger for the left rear from another LO3/5 car passenger's side. The holes are already in the left side of the cross member to mount the hanger.
