Good 6.5 speakers cheap at amazon

Are these door speakers, rear deck, or both? I'm thinking of replacing the door speakers while I have the door panels off to fix the missing clips.

people put them in thr front doors. it is not what the wagon calls for. somewhere on the impala forum is a template to make adapters to fit the 6,5 speakers. the factory door speakers are more rectangles

Has anybody used Pyle speakers? A few reviews for their 6x9 told of some failing after just a few months.

As a car audio enthusiast, I wouldn't, personally.

For a decent budget-minded speaker, I've never had a set of Kenwoods I didn't like.

If you plan on keeping the 4x6 speaker size, Polk makes the best plate speakers available in that size that won't break the bank.

You'd be better off converting to 6.5/6.75 though. More cone area, better quality available, etc.

Rear speakers, for reference, are 6x9.

I use only KICKER products exclusively.

On 94-96 Roadmasters 6.5" is the correct size. All Caprice and earlier Roadmasters/Custom Cruisers use the 4x6" speaker up front.

Thanks for the info guys, a decent set of 6.5" in the door and 6x9 in the cargo area should be good for now, along with a new JVC deck with USB inputs. I think I'll steer clear of the Pyles. I've never tried Kicker, but hear good things. I'm a Kenwood fan as well. I think that last set of speakers I bought were Soundstream components, way back in the 90s.

I also still have an ADS PowerPlate 80 amp stashed somewhere, along with an MTX 4 channel amp if I decide to add a sub in the future, or run cleaner power to the front speakers.

I chased high end car audio in my 20s, but it's a game of exponentially more work and money for smaller gains. I think new speakers and head unit will be a big improvement for under $300.

The older you get the less it matters because you can't hear the difference anyway.... Jeff
