| I'm wondering if any of you have possibly tried to do something for an anchor system to help secure infant and child seats in the second row of seats in the Wagon? I know you can use the shoulder belts to run thru the car seats, but they just aren't secure like the newer cars are with the anchor systems built right into the seats. My Magnum has the child seat anchor system and the kids car seats are literally immovable. If I run the shoulder belts thru the kids car seats in my Caprice the car seat is still able to move around like crazy and that scares me in case I would ever get into an accident with the kids in the Caprice with me.
I'm just curious if any of you guys came up with any better system? Safety of your kids makes a guy think…..
Thanks in advance! 8

| There is (or was) a tether strap available that mounts to the 3rd row seatbelt anchors. The upper tether strap of the car seat is passed over the backs of both. It is also just barely long enough to pass it behind the rear of the 3rd row seat back, but that's a bit tricky. Secure the shoulder / waist belt through the car seat and put your knee on the child seat as you take up the slack. Make sure you use the metal seat belt clip (looks like two Cs back to back) to secure the two halves of the shoulder harness to each other at the upper swivel mount as these cars do not have locking retractors.
If you pass the car tether up behind the 3rd row seat back, it then becomes possible to install the car seat in the 3rd row. But take an advanced gymnastics course first.

| I've already came up with a decent rear tether strap that I made. What is this Metal Seat Belt clip you speak of? (tell me more please! ) Sounds like what I'm missing, because when I draw mine tight, they soon loosen right up and wiggle around because the belt tension releases. | |

| Yeah, that's the clip I was talking about. Didn't your child car seat come with one? Our seats each have one of those stored in the rear of the child seat backrest. At one time, GM would also supply them for free for cars that did not have the locking reel. | |

| No, these seats didn't come with anything like that. I think they are all assuming they use the new latch systems in the newer cars. These were about the best seats we could buy costing $300 each, so I'm guessing that most don't include that clip anymore. My wife opened the boxes for these car seats about a year or so ago, so its possible that there were clips in the box but she kept all the owners manuals and extra parts in a drawer and there aren't any clips in with them. I do really like the new latch systems in the new cars, they hold the seats like they are welded in! lol Hopefully these clips will help my Wagons shoulder belts hold better! Thanks for your ideas and info! | |

| When I was a kid cars didn't even have seatbelts. Anyone ever remember sleeping on the package shelf in the rear window? | |

| Those clips are difficult to install, but you can clamp the seats in tight with them. | |

| I just tried one today, they are the ticket! Without them, the car seat can flop around like crazy! | |

| I found out that the safety seat manufacturers stopped supplying a clip with every car seat as of August 2014. I guess there just aren't that many pre-1996 vehicles still on the road and hauling children and don't already have a clip or two tucked away in the glove box. | |

| I was wondering if that wasn't the case. Buy a new Obama car, not a quality piece!

What is with you 'Mericans and "Obama-this" or "Obama-that"? Ok, "Obama-care", I get. He did promise health care funding reform and (love it or hate it) he did (kind-of) deliver on that. But blaming him for everything from hurricanes to cop-killings? The Dow Jones average to the price of gas? In this case, the decision of a manufacturer to stop automatically supplying an accessory that has been obsolete for 20 years? Locking seatbelt retractors compatible with child safety car seats were mandated in all vehicles in 1996 -- 13 years before Obama was elected. I'm pretty sure those details were worked out by the Department of Transportation without any direct intervention by the US president of the day (Bill Clinton). How can this possibly be related to Obama???

| It was meant as that i should buy a new tin can that makes 52MPG as will be required in what year again 2025,….(I'm not 100% certain on the details on that, but you know what I'm referring to). Cash for Clunkers come to mind? I guess I should of crushed my 95, so I had a newer car with the latches! lol
I'm not into political stuff, and I actually meant that first comment more as a joke than anything serious!
I'm not blaming anyone for anything, but his name is just easy to attach as he is the current president. Irregardless of who is president, their name would be easy to attach to it! Its all good!

| Yeah, I know. I should mind my own business, especially where politics are concerned. I just can't figure out all the vitriolic: Somebody must like the guy's policies (after all, you elected him twice). And from the outside looking in, your country seems to be in better shape economically after 7 years of Obama than it was after 7 years of Bush Jr. so the world didn't end after all when he got elected. His term is almost up (he only get's two under your constitution, right?). Isn't it about time to give the guy a pat on the back for what he's accomplished, forget him and start arguing about the next pair of contenders? (EDIT: I see a post snuck in there mentioning Cash for Clunkers. IIRC, Obama signed the bill extending the program, but the original started under his predecessor's administration. Either way, it was a shame and lead to the death of a lot of serviceable classics and parts cars. ) I hear Donald Trump wants in; that would be entertaining! I've got a 12-pack of Molson's that says he tries to fire someone he can't fire inside of the first 10 weeks in office. | |

| Our current state Governor here in WI is gonna give Trump a run for his money! The mans be elected Governor, recalled, reelected in the recall election and then reelected again after that. Thats when you gotta think the majority has spoken! lol Anyway, THANK YOU for opening my eyes to these seat belt clips! They sure seem to cure the issue! | |

| At least you have the ability to recall, as theoretical as that might be in this case.
We got stuck with Mayor Rob Ford until his term expired.
Come to think of it, he got re-elected to Council. No longer Mayor, thank God, but still feeding at the trough.
