| This may seem like a dumb question, but is the wood grain on these wagons a decal of sorts applied to the metal? In general is it suspect to scatches more than the regular paint? Is there a problem with them pealing? And is the wood grain put on these cars just like they have since the 60's? Do you wax over it just like metal? Sorry if these questions sound stupid. Never had woodgrain before, but like the look of it. | |

| its like a vinyl stcker.
paint is more susceptible to scratching.
i dont know if peeling is a big problem yet. but i've seen some pictures of badly faded woodgrain cars down south.
i've waxed mine and it came out great!

| The trade name for the product is 'Di-Noc' - manufactured by 3M. From wwhat I hear, the Di-Noc produced these days is not the same as that made when the woody wagon was on it's last legs in the mid 90's. Check out my '81 Bonneville Safari.....  Overall, the Di-Noc on my wagon is in pretty good shape, mostly because it's been parked indoors for most of its life. It is drying out and getting brittle in some areas - like the panel edges where its folded over. | |
