| I am installing these headers (among other things) and wanted to make a thread on the process. Will supply plenty of pics since many people inquire about the fit of these headers. Will start off with pics of headers and other parts being used. Many thanks to Crovo for the Summitracing links to the good parts Pass Side Driver They don't have the best flanges in the world but I have installed worse. I know some will think I am insane for not buying coated ones but I never have before. thinking I may clean them up and spray with VHT. These gaskets should make sealing easy.

| These headers do not come with a provision for the factory EGR. I think it could be easily fabbed but am just gonna eliminate it. Block off plates, 12 point bolts and O2 bungs for the collectors. Hi Flow Cats from eBay....$40 each. That is all for now as I am swapping front fenders and other parts while the wagon is down. Gonna take awhile as I am in no hurry and on Jury Duty til the end of April | |

| Nice! Will be nice to see how this comes out...What are your plans for the AC lines? I'm going to try heat wrap for mine. | |

| There is perfect clearance with the support brace and frame rail. Once I get a new blade for my Sawzall, I will tackle the passenger side. | |

| I told you those drop right in like they were made for the car. Sawzall??? For what? Passenger side drops in from the top, too. IIRC, I think you just have to bend the dipstick a lil bit a couple times to get the fit right. | |

| I don't wanna mess with draining the coolant from the block. With my luck I will break the sensor in the head removing the manifold. That will force me to drain so I can change it. Just gonna cut the cat off so the manifold will lift right out.
Will try and separate the cat from the manifold first but am not holding my breath that it will work.

| Only had 1 broken manifold bolt amazingly, it came right out with pliers though. The Infamous AC Lines. They do require some tweaking to get out of the way. Pass header installed and it fits perfectly, clearance everywhere. It dropped straight in from the top. Plugs, wires and starter still on the engine. | |

| I had to bend the AC up and over the A Arm and out towards the inner fender. I haven't gotten them completely were I want them but they will clear fine.
Like Dan said though, since these headers are not made for our cars and mass produced on an assembly line your results may vary.
My install was damn near perfect and I would recommend these to anyone looking for a cheap pair of headers that do not require hacking anything off.

| Good----- With the Air Pump removed you have lots more room for the driver side plug wires. Was able to pull the #5 wire up enough to loop it and bring the boot in from the rear. Wire clearance issues eliminated. They even carry, plug wire boots and wrap at the nearby Advance Auto. I'm sticking with the stock wire routing along the block and it will help keep the heat away from the couple close spots. Bad news-----I wasn't careful enough and busted the AC line I know what I did wrong (didn't brace the correct area while I curved it) and can avoid that when I get a new line. That said, while I recommend these headers, be careful with the AC lines. If AC is a MUST have for you, be prepared, cause you may be without it. That is the only caveat with these headers that I have found. | |

| Great write-up and you speak the truth! Awesome headers, that fit like they were designed on the car, but interfere with the AC lines... Some careful bending though, and you're home free. I wanted to get a set of braided stainless ones made up but I couldn't find anyone to do it for me... | |

| Looking good! I am amazed that they cleared the frame braces! VERY nice!
Crovo...if you find someone to make you custom AC lines...put me in for a set too. I know I will need them for my install.

Thanks, Bill. A custom set of lines would be great.

| Hey, how is this coming along?? Did you get your new AC lines bent how you wanted them? What wa the best way (you found) to make that hard bend without tearing the line? | |

| Mine is still sitting in the garage waiting for my lazy butt to work on it. I'm am either going to have my line brazed where I tore it or replace it and bend it the proper way to fit. Put a set of headers on that Impala you guys helped with when you were here (Bryant) this past Saturday. I was able to bend his line without breaking it and his headers also fit perfectly. Since this is three sets that I know of installed without any major problem I recommend them to anyone looking to get headers and not break the bank. They are available coated for those that want them. I have responses to my thread at the "other" board about AB's not "looking good" enough for some. I setup my exhaust for function not a beauty contest. These headers are on a 94 Imp with old ass mounts, etc and they fit damn near perfect. Plenty of clearance even for his MSD 8.5 wires with some big boots and stock Delco plugs. Things look closer in the pics than they really are. | |

| Exhaust is hooked up and I have driven the car. Much louder and feels like it gained it a few ponies It is back in the air for the shift kit install so I figured I should grab some pics to finish the thread. I ended up not running CATs. Driver side pipe fits perfectly as is. Pass side requires a short piece of pipe when not using a CAT. If you use a CAT it fit perfectly with no mods needed. You have to cut the flared portion off if you are not using the factory CATs. I just used some 2 1/2 ID adapters to connect them to the collectors. A 2 1/2 tail pipe was cut down to replace the CAT on the pass side. | |

| O2 Wires fit just fine without any extensions. Just had to untape the knock sensor wire on the driver side so it could reach. Installed a pair of 2 1/2 Thrush Welded mufflers. They sound almost identical to the Flows sadly. They will be replaced with some Hookers once the funds allow it. | |

| SWEET! Hey..so you bought those intermediate pipes? What did you do fpr over Axle pipes? Good tip on the driver's O2 wire...I was gonna buy Gary's extension harness...gonna try your trick 1st. Heh, I bought the Hooker Aero Chamber mufflers Eager to put them on! I guess I actually have to get it running 1st. Lol I need Mike to come back. | |

| Yeah, I bought the pipes from Summit cause no one else had them in stock. They tack on an extra shipping charge ($8 per), something about special packaging, yet they arrived in no box or anything, lol. I tacked an extra item on and was able to use my $40 certificate which canceled out all shipping charges plus some, lol. For the O2 wire I just removed the heat wrap from it and there is a spot that has it (Knock sensor wire) taped. Remove the tape and the wire will extend out enough. Also had to unplug the oil sensor to re route the wiring through the Oil Cooler lines. Couple zip ties to hold it in place and voila. As for OTA pipes, there are none. Exhaust is dumped at the mufflers. One day I might get the Dynomax 2 1/2 pipes and mod them for the wagon. The pipes are available from Advance Auto so that avoids the almost $20 extra shipping charge Summit tacks onto each of them. Doing the exhaust myself only cost me $15 in labor for a few welds Leaving the mufflers clamped since they will be swapped out anyways. | |

Yes I did indeed install these on a 94 Wagon.
Am in the process of hooking the EGR system to them.
