| Hey guys, I am thinking on listing my wagon, thinking about 5500. I am at 79000 miles right now. Tow pac car but did not get posi There is no rust to speak of other than the usual specs on the paint on the underside(yes there was paint on the underside of our cars at one time ) and the very light surface rust on the frame. I have glass packs on it and have done the home depot intake, still have the original stuff. Bravada console, tinted windows, impala ss wheels with excellent Michelin runflats. There is a small dent in ps front fender and door, I think a pop a dent guy would have no problem fixing, wood is in nice shape, has a number of dings on ps rear quarter. all stainless is very nice, have all rub strips except ps rear door. Still has sungate ws, everything functions as it should, interior I would rate as a 9.5 out of a 10. This is an extremely clean car. I can take detailed pictures of anything you may want to see. Wanted to give you guys a chance before I put it on ebay dent in door the only real rust, pics make it look bad, very solid yet The reason for selling.....got the wifes old ford out of storage and one must go. Please guys at least give some imput if you think my price is in the ballpark or not

| I think 5500 is a very reasonable price considering the mileage, condition and updates done. My bet is that it sells quick at that price. | |

| You must have a cool wife to have bought and saved a Boss.
The wagon price seems more than fair if not low. The low mileage ones have been selling for a lot more and you have done some great work on it. Jeff

Jeff Thanks Jeff, she inherited it from her dad about 7 years ago, he bought it in the early 80s and it spent most of its time in az. its been holed up in a shed for last 6 yrs, shes talking about getting rid of it so I decided my wagon will go instead so we can start restoration on the mustang. I have always been a diehard gm guy but this ford is probably the one to keep. my wagon is on ebay now, hopfully it will go for more than the buy it now

| Ebay was a flop, only went to 2555. Thought it was a little nicer than that, 1000 in wheels and tires, leaving 1500 for a rust free low mile car.. do you think it was the mods? I have seen rusty 150000 mile cars go for way more. Maybe put factory rims back on and try again | |

| Sorry to see this. I think it was worth more too. Love the shifter mod. I tend to like Craigslist better than Ebay. | |

| the people paying high dollar are more interested in stock vehicles as they tend to be a little older.
That said Ian sold tiki for around 7ish I think with a console and baby moon hubcaps. I wouldn't show the light surface rust pics either. If is that clean why bother. you said yourself the pics make it look worse than it is. A potential bidder only sees the worse. Provide the shots if requested and then show real good detail where they can see it's not bad. just my 2 cents

| Yup, try again. I was watching, should go for more. The $1500 shipping bill kills it for me, that and buying one locally.
If it was closer I would have made an offer.

| Oh, and time the auction to end at night, around 10 PM eastern. You'll have more people watching then. People can't stop and bid while they're at work, and people like to jump in at the end. | |

| I can't see Ebay at work; How were your photos? If you want top dollar, you better have top dollar pictures, and lots of them. All of the pictures you've posted here are muddy and blurry except for your first one, and the first one shows a car covered in bugs and leftover deer whistle adhesive. A good rule of thumb is $100 per picture - if you want $500, take 5 pictures. If you want $5000, take 50 pictures. | |

| Yeah. This is what I do for a living, pretty much.
You need to invest in good photos. Use a DSLR. Borrow one. Stage the car. Get it out of the brown grass on the side of your house. Shoot it somewhere clean - and not a parking lot. Find a nice BIG piece of concrete (better than blacktop) for the natural reflective light. USE THE CAMERA'S FLASH to illuminate things.
For the interior - try flipping the camera upside down to have the flash illuminate footwells and show how clean the carpets are.
For the love of God, clean the thing. Well. Take off those rear wheels and paint those brake rotors. $5 in high temp black paint goes a long way toward good presentation.
Put in about 4-5 hours in detailing that thing to the hilt and you'll more than make up for it in bids and attention.
JM2C IMHO IME YMMV
etc. etc.
(Now I sound like Nick... lol)

| My problem is, I put that much work into getting a car ready to sell and then I decide it's a pretty good car and I should just keep it. | |

| LOL!
Well if 5 hours of work results in $500 more in bids, you just made $100/hr to detail your car.
Pretty good trade-off, I'd say. |

| Thanks for the input guys, I know the pictures were pretty bad, as far as brake drums and the scaly paint underneath I kinda thought people would like to see the car in its original state so they could tell its never been messed with. I am almost happy it didn't go, I know I would really miss it. | |
