| I have a 93 Caprice wagon, light blue on blue cloth with a 5.7L under the hood. The paint has the typical Southern California peeling clearcoat on all but the previously repainted passenger side and lots of little plastic bits that should get replaced someday. My plans include leaving the car mostly stock with the exception of radio and wheels, the wire caps have to go - I am thinking the SS454 wheels but don't see any good profile photos of a wagon wearing them on the forum, just a front angle shot in cadet's sig pic. I will probably paint the B and C pillars black if and when the wagon gets a repaint. I learned to drive in a seemingly bigger wagon than this, a 68 Dodge Polara 3seater with 383/auto but the only other wagon I have driven was a 68 Chrysler Town&Country I picked up in 2003 and let go in 2003 because it just needed too much work on everything. This time around I picked one that needs a little bit of work but is a much better starting point with easier to find parts. I've been checking out the forum and getting much needed info from old posts and will be asking questions as I get to things I don't see on here or in the factory service manual. - Attachments

| Welcome, glad you found us! Actually there is someone who has / had the SS454 wheels. I believe it is Justin "Cadet57". He'll be around and dig up some pictures. Tom C. Just found this: | |

| What a great starting point. You'll have a lot of fun changing that wagon from a wagon to your wagon. Welcome to the club. | |

| Welcome to the club! I absolutely love my 93 Caprice, very easy to work on - but I only have the 305. - sswagon wrote:

*Looks around for Tim* Nothing wrong with a stock wagon! I like the stock look of mine! (LOL! My wish list is a mile long (note: this is mostly minor changes), but my wallet is an inch thick)

| Yep, that is the only pic I found, too much of a front angle to really tell what the wheels look like on the car. Had a boss one time that put 'em on an Astro van and I really liked the look. Haven't driven the wagon much yet, it has a stalling problem at low rpm in gear but I think that has a lot to do with the battery and cables since charging the battery all the way up makes the problem a lot less noticeable and the cheapy battery was on the quick list just because it looks like a 30 day dealer special battery and the cables look to be original. Thanks for the welcome everyone. - silverfox103 wrote:

| Welcome! Dig around for the August 2010 LROM or wagonfest pics. there was a guy there with a red wagon and the SS wheels on it as well. I know there are pics of it on here.
They look good on the cars. I wanted a set for a long time. Now that I've moved on to 17" wheels, of course a set came available locally for cheap....
I moved the 17s in a Impala rim, and just before I sold my Olds (same color as yours), I swapped the 15s back on for the sale. Man what a difference the 17s make during high speed cornering (highway on ramps). With the 15s you can definitely feel the sidewalls bending when the car is loaded....

| Thank you MalibuSSwagon, that is just what I wanted to see. Full wheel shows in the rear and makes the look complete. | |

| Thought I'd add my faint memory of driving an "around" 1986 Olds Custom Cruiser as a work provided car back in the mid 90's. I carried lots of money in it while taking care of a video poker machine route in Louisiana. Always told the boss that if it broke down I would be keeping an eye on it from somewhere out of plain sight! Third seat area was the out of sight storage for the money that was usually into the 5 figures, the bill counter and the coin counter. That car was dark blue with woodgrain and a blue cloth interior. It never broke down on me but did on the person after me when I took a promotion.
Also remembering a '60 or so Falcon wagon my mom had before getting the 68 Polara.
