| Hello all. I'm looking for a new set of front/rear tires for my 96 SS. (All stock) running OEM SS rims. I'm looking for tires that will not throw the speedo off to much, and are slightly wider in the rear and narrower in the front. (Tire width). I like for the rear tires to look meaty Thanks in advance for all recommendations.

| 255/50/17 is stock SS. A meatier width would be 275/50/17,however this makes it a little taller. 275/45/18 would also be wider and keep the height with in an inch. | |

| Thank you very much for the info and prompt reply.
And if I was to run a stock N97 rim on it...what would be the meatiest tire I could run on the rear? I'm thinking 295/60/15? | |

| Thats almost a foot wide without the squat from the rim being a little narrow for that tire. Not saying it wouldnt work, but Ive never seen it. It might be a situation were you need to mount the tire with it deflated, then air it up. If you go this route I would be interested in knowing the particulars.Thanks... | |

| A 295 would feel really wiggly on stock width N97s. A 255 is about as wide as you want to go with a 7" rim, and that is what the N97s are I think. | |

| I'm not aware of availability for 295/60/15..... I've seen 295/50/15's and 275/60/15's.... My wagon wears 275/60/15's on stock astro van star aluminum wheels and 205/70/15's on the front... A 275/60/15 is roughly the same as an old L60/15, while a 295/50/15 is an N50/15......The 295's are substantially shorter than the 275's (which are the same diameter as my 235/70/15 spare!) If you started with 235/75/15, both of these sizes are shorter.... | |

| I like the 275/40/17's on my 9C1. Harsh ride but the car handles great. | |
