I've swapped the original steering wheel for a wheel from an early 90s S10 truck. I like the look and feel of it. I am going to take the new wheel back off to replace the cancel cam / horn contact ring. Do I discard the clockspring while I have it off ,or does it need to stay to take up space? Thanks Question

Pictures? Clockspring isn't going to cause any harm, I imagine leaving it there shouldn't be an issue.
