| Hi guys, I got the 5029-W trailing arm mount braces, but when I went to install the passenger side one, I found that it wouldn't fit, like it's too short (I haven't tried the driver side). I sent the photos attached to this thread to Dick Miller Racing, who said that the braces are correct & that they should fit unless something has been changed with my car. My frame looks straight. Am I missing something here? Has anyone else had problems with these fitting? EDIT: Now I see on ISSF that these don't fit wagons Thanks | |

Not 100% sure, but I don't think John has a wagon rear end in his car.

Tom The triangulation bars stiffen the frame and prevent the cross bar from flexing with respect to the frame rails. They are independent of the rear.

| Why would braces fit sedan but not wagon? | |

| The wagon is wider between the rear quarters.

The frame is wider? I thought all B-Body frames were identical

No. I know that some frames had extra bracing / triangulation stiffened, but thought all dimensions were the same. Could you please elaborate?

Similar, yes. Identical, no. Wagons have a different rear axle housing, and there are tweaks to accommodate various running changes, such as the dual exhausts.

| I had the same thing happen about 5 years ago with the Dick Miller braces. I'm VERY surprised he said they would fit considering we reported that they wouldn't back in 2011. I finally sold mine last month. The day after I sold them I ran into some guy walking in the forest wearing a Dick Miller racing t-shirt.
Anyhow, the wagon frame is different. Fully boxed on a wagon, for one thing. Wagons also have a greater distance, around 2", between the lower control arm brackets on housing, which entails a greater distance between the frame lower control arm mounts to accommodate this. There were a bunch of frame part numbers, between sedan, 9c1, wagon and years. If you want exact specs, I think only NavyLifer or Gerry (95Wagon) might still have those.
