Leave the cats on, buy stock replacement mufflers from Rockauto or your local parts place.

| Ok, that makes more sense.
Keep the cats, buy Summit Turbo mufflers, keep the resonators.

| lol, have you owned a muffler delete car? NOT quiet. Loud at idle, really loud on acceleration, and borderline intolerable at WOT. | |

| I replaced the stock HUGE mufflers with Flowmasters about 10 years ago. Left the resonators, everything else stock too. Good rumble at idle, sounds great under load, but still quiet on the highway, and no drone (thanks resonators for resonating....). No complaints! Others will jump in and bash Flowmasters, and that's fine. I've liked mine. A lot of folks also swear by Magnaflow, so you might consider that. Oh and off-topic, but if you take some wet SOS pads or fine steel wool to your exhaust tips, and follow that with Mother's metal polish, they tips will glow like new! Just put some elbow-grease in. Take Care! -Texas Mike | |

My 94 Roady Wagon runs a x-pipe muffler delete. Its not as loud as you would expect. That being said,it does have its moments. Lol

| X pipe will take a lot of the bark out the muff delete. Mine was straight back, no cross over. They actually got out the dB meter on my second run at the autocross and wanted to kick me out. I took that launch a little easier... the first one was a John Force-style burnout...
Flowmasters: they don't all sound the same. I hate 40s, but others like them. There are other models to choose from.
But seriously, if you want an inexpensive muffler, that many have used, and sound good, and aren't loud... Summit Turbos.

| Another option i put on the caddy field car with a balance tube were walker quiet flows, just a rumble outside at wot,. But suitable to a caddy inside,. My sotp meter told me the car was improved seemed to rev thru first gear quicker i did notice better fuel mileage which once again proves how restrictive factory mufflers are | |

| I'm going to do my exhaust eventually. So far I have a pypes x-pipe, and 50 series flowmasters. A local shop claims they have a fantastic custom pipe bender to make me a 2.5 inch over the axle set. I am considering turn downs out just behind the wheels, versus adapt the exhaust down to the current resonators, or possibly something else behind the axle. It's my daily driver. I do not want excessive noise, or headaches, or the drone reported by so many after deleting the resonators. I'm open to suggestions, low on cash & time. I'm leaning towards the turn downs, side exit to avoid the drone. | |
