| Just got done putting the pedals in my 78, Had planned on using an F-body master since it is off the shelf and matches everything else i have for my setup but before i go cutting into the firewall to mount it, figured i might ask to see what others have used and may be a better option for me.
1978 Impala, 2000 camaro T56 using the camaro Pedal and all camaro parts for the rest of the swap.

| Use the stock F setup, works fine, just a pain to reverse bleed. You can remove the line off the slave by simply driving out the roll pin (look close) so you don't need to make a big hole. | |

| Note that when you DO bleed it, you need to pull the clutch pedal piston out (pedal UP) all the way. Even more than at rest. That last little bit allows fluid/air to move up from the slave through to the master. Air will work it's way out, also, as you use it. You'll know because it will be hard to get in gear with the car running. Then it's time for another re-bleed. | |

| Stock F-body or pay a bit more for the tick adjustable if you really want to be able to dial it in.
Buy a speedbleeder line too - you'll thank me later on that one.

Buy a speedbleeder line too - you'll thank me later on that one. I have read/heard that the T56 setup can be a complete bear to bleed. have not bought the speed bleeder line yet, gonna try it without by reverse bleeding it. that is how i had to bleed the hydro setup on my SM465 in my old K5. Have a big syringe and gonna force it from the slave back up to the master to purge all the air. I'll buy the speed bleeder if i have to...budget on the car took a big hit a couple weeks ago so still trying to get it done ASAP but only with what is required at this point.

| Speed bleeder and a mityvac got me done pretty quickly (after I had to R&R the trans again and found the slave was cracked...). | |

| Thanks!. I bought all new parts. Slave, MC, clutch, everything so hopefully i only have to do it once so long as my trans is good.
hopefully it won't be too much of a pain to bleed.

| Did you buy the pre-filled complete hydraulics from GM? Or, all new empty parts? If the latter, yes, it will be tough to bleed. It will need a re-bleed. I did need to do that. I installed used hydraulics, but had to put in a new aftermarket slave since the yard simply cut the slave off instead of popping out the roll pin.
Your hand will get sore pushing that piston... use a piece of wood. Get it working, enjoy the car, then re-bleed when it stops going into gear. I only had to re-do it once.

It's around 70 bucks on Rock Auto. I went that way, no muss no fuss and kept my original master. Just need to mount it on the firewall (I had the F2B kit for my 94).

Yeah...probably should have put it in the first post. Car is a 78 Box Impala with an LS swap (LQ4) and the T56 is from a 2000 camaro. all LS stuff. Rock auto does not list a pre-bled hydraulic kit for the LS, at least not when looking up the parts for the Camaro.

| Yep, forgot it was LS. I will defer to Sting... IIRC the LS T56 has a bleed port (you lucky bastards) | |

| yupp there is an access hole in the bell housing for bleeding, but still a PITA to get to, many people still opt for a speed bleeder line though. | |

| Deep 11mm (if I remember right) and the smallest skinniest 1/4 drive ratchet you can buy will work in a pinch. I bought this itty bitty one from Autozone as an impulse buy and it's actually become pretty handy (fits under the cowl of the C5 to get the last two intake bolts, for example).
